Neafing diplomacy with 'normal' options?

Okay, so I want to find a way make diplomacy less effective with subtle means available. I don't want to remove it, or partly remove it.

Okay, so I know that if monsters are 'savage' they will never join, unless during a specific creature month, right? (not completely sure about this, though. Let me know). So maybe if you could generate random maps with all creatures set to 'savage'? Can you do that?

Also, could any of these options be tweaked to work as a neaf to diplomacy?

Monster strength (in game options, not totally sure how this changes things) Set to strong, maybe?

Monster strength (in rmg.txt files) Set to strong for all zones IDs, maybe?

What's the difference between these two, anyhow?

Also

Map difficulty ? set to a higher level?

Thanks

I was hoping for some replies, but maybe I'm just not making myself clear? Anyhow, I found out that all random maps generate monsters set to only as 'hostile'. No options changes this, whatsoever. I also found this interresting thread:

http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=28341

...and, if I understand the maths correctly, then if you could somehow change the hostile neutral's aggressiveness range from the standard of '4-10' to '7-10' then the interesting result would be (if diplomacy of expert level) that you'd be able to buy monsters 1/4 of time if sympathy = '0' and 2/4 if = '1' and 3/4 if '2'. So no free joiners in that case! This is true in case the stack doesn't attack you outright, at least.

Also, you'd need diplomacy at at least advanced level to even be able to get the chance of an offer to pay for an army. That is if sympathy = '2'.

I dunno if it could be done. Maybe with some sort of tool applying the changes after the random map was already generated?

Anyhow, there's always the gentleman's rule of just not accepting free joiners. Just don't click the wrong choice button by mistake!

As far as i know on randoms wandering stack can ONLY join, if the skill diplomancy is on a hero. And it must be at least on advanced, to make one join. So...

...if you play human just rule out diplomancy.

...if you play a against the computer you must know that the compter is almost unable to get joiners, so leave this toast AI this little advantage.

There is no need to make things complicated.

Oh, I agree. But I just cannot help myself making it very complicated for myself. I am sick like that, really.

Well, if you have sympaty = 2 + basic diplomacy then there's a small chance that any monster might have roled the dice @ '4'. Because  2 + 1 + 1 = 4. So only joiners at '4' out of randoms from 4 to 10 might join. Not a big chance. And your ammy vaule is going to be much smaller with >=50% of the same stack in your army. Therefore your ch would be lower. Also, at ca. level 20+, you must level up diplomacy if your hero is natural born diplo. Then there's the problem with scholers that could give you diplomacy.

But I did find the perfect solution by making all monster savage (non-WoG by the end of it):

Of course you can also remove diplo completely with the editor, if you want that.
