Posad - Russian Town

I'm starting this theme, because there at least one modder instead of me is wanting to work on Russian town.

So there materials for it will be published (if will emerge).

This is Russian town, inspired by Kremlin idea (http://woggrad.ru/)

But at least now we don't want to "steal" line-up from Kremlin team.
So idea is to create more monocultural town, then Kremlin. I see it as Castle variation, but in Russian appearance.
It will be wooden town + wooden fort. In terms of history it will be russian town of 7-9 centuries. Religion is a cult of Russian gods pantheon. The main protector of town is Veles.

THIS IS TOWN FOR VCMI ONLY.

First line-up is following:

Level 1 - peasants/burgers
Level 2 - squad swordsman/squad axeman
Level 3 - squad archer/squad longbowman
Level 4 - forest bear/war bear
Level 5 - magus (volhv)/avatar (grand magus) (grand volhv)
Level 6 - Bogatyr/Great Bogatyr (warrior on horse)
Level 7 - Zmey Gorynych / Great Zmey Gorynych (there are already degrade from WOG and repaint for upgrade).

Heroes types - VOLHV (MAGUS)/ VOEVODA (GOVERNOR)

I don't pretend to create some Cove-like town from scratch. It will be mostly based on already existing material.
And I don't pretend to create something non-seen or revolutional like some modders try to do.
Maybe there will not be any output at all.
If there emerge some units, then it's aim is partially reached.

PS Now I don't see any need for some story, why this town appeared in worlds of Heroes 3. Some black hole sucked some part of Russia of 8th century and placed it on Enroth (or Achan or any other world I don't remember now). Who cares about these stoopid attempts to create stories for MM/HMM3 world? I didn't played MM so don't care.

PPS The concept of town - is a completely wooden town. The only rocks are the altar to some gods and fundaments of some buildings.
Maybe holy grail will give also ability to recruit Immortal Kosheys.
They are not accepted by original Kremlin theme, but I think they will be very mighty undeads, so reason for grail building will be not lower, than for something like fortress or dungeon grail.

PPPS Town supposingly will be called "Posad". "Kremlin" is reserved.
"Posad" means town in feet of fortress, where townfolks and craft masters lived. When enemy attacked, all population tried to run and hide in fortress. That's why lineup includes peasants, militia and other sorts of home guard. For opposition, Kremlin is a fortress, not a town, so there are only bogatyrs (warriors) lived with some spirits and forest monsters/animals.

PPPPS There are some snow ideas, that new towns must not belong to single culture, but to different cultures and mythologies. I know about them, but dislike them. It's like soup from axe.
If Heroes 3 creators didn't have enough fantasy and knowledge and messed up some creatures in one town, its their problem.
Tower don't count, because it's city of magical creatures, so mages could summon them from different places by magic.

Or you mean Kremlin team?
This town is not a realization of Kremlin. Kremlin is independent work.
This town is planned to be using Mount & Blade 3D works.

House,

Like those that increase with the upgrading of the Capitol.
However this is VERY HIGH POLY and the other structures will be with lower polygons, I may also re-model it into a lowpoly house since there will be too much of these when the town screen will be realized(by whomever it will be realized)

And, btw, I will make dwellings for Alex-ander's lineup. I.e.

Outpost(I say to replace forest keepers with Bogatyrs)
Iriy Gardens
Vast Caverns
So that if we find someone to make the mythic beings.

My idea was also that the positioning of the buildings be that of the Conflux, but rather slightly retextured in a grim/north/taiga ambience.
Positioning for me was exactly like conflux(castle, hall, tavern etc.) except for:
Khutor(Altar of Water)
Dreamrealm(Altar of Thought)
Bear Cave(Altar of Air)
Chicken-Legged Hut
Outpost(University)
Underworld Gate(Altar of Fire)
Vast Caverns(Pyre)
Grail Building(Iriy)(Aurora Borealis)
Special Building(No idea)(Pixie dwelling)

If we talk about pagan Russia, Russians didn't see taiga yet.
I think it's middle Russia forests, green/dark, and green grass (like in Conflux:-) )

How about keeping the Conflux BG at the moment for Kremlin?

And in the same time slightly retexture the Conflux Hall&Castle, since they're similiar to this. Just for the beta.

Something else: Instead of Multi-Headed Dragons, we can move Firebird/Phoenix/Sacred Phoenix to the Kremlin, while we use the Amethyst/Crystal/Sapphire Dragons from Grove as Lv7/7upg/Lv8 for the Conflux. In the end, they are based on the M&M 8 dragons, which were pets of Escaton the elementalist and didn't belong to a specific element such as the Phoenix. Escaton's Crystal could be their dwelling, spawning like a big crystal admist the mountains.

Thus, the final troop tree would be:
Hearthkeeper->Domovoi
Night Storyteller->Ivory Baun(however this is translated)
Bear->Royal Bear
Bogatyr->Mighty Bogatyr
Forest Witch->Baba Yaga
Sirin->Alkonost
Firebird->Phoenix->Sacred Phoenix

It's too dark, I think.
Conflux background includes water. I didn't wanted to use shipyard in this town.
PS Russian Town without Zmey Gorynyches is a bad idea.

Ok. Zmey then. And the fact that includes water does not mean we can't remove shipyard. It mostly includes river, and there are alot of rivers in Russia, i.e. Volga.
