M&M X Intro unveiled
Might & Magic X Legacy - Intro (video)
Animation breakdown video
It explains a lot of the wars before and around the Second Eclipse, and how it led the conflict to the Agyn Peninsula where M&M X takes part.
Also, Legacy now not only refers to the NWC RPG series, but also to Archangel Uriel legacy.

The music seems to delay for a few seconds I like the intro style and how it ties in with the events of H6, in some ways it reminds me of the Baldur's Gate cinematics. Kind of longish though.

I agree it's quite long, but I like it anyways.
As long as the story isn't based on "Angels vs Demons", it should be fine.

I like how the intro itself gives more information on the history. Shows us what happened after H.VI more then DoC, SoD or H-Online.
But the last line just gives me the feeling that the plot is taken from the canceled raiders

Not really. That last part was added as an afterthought, to explain what your party is doing there in the first place.

So what happened to Sheltem? Wasn't he in the first M&M trailer?

That X sign was comprised of many old m&m references, not just Sheltem. Doesn't mean they will be part the game just like the old worlds are not part of the current setting. MMX Legacy does follow the legacy of the old games but not their settings and storylines and as far as I know there won't be any sci fi elements.

Also, it has been mentioned before that there may not be sci-fi elements, but we may see references to the older games here and there
Quote: Again, in a PAX preview it was mentioned that, in contrast to the older Might & Magic titles, there won't be any sci-fi elements in Might & Magic X. Is that true, and what prompted that decision? Aren't you afraid this might lessen the series' charm, especially in the eyes of old-time Might & Magic fans?
This PAX preview is right: There won’t be any sci-fi elements in Might & Magic X - Legacy. More accurately, you won't explore spaceships, fight killer robots or wield blasters. This decision is directly tied to the new world (called Ashan) we created since Might & Magic Heroes V, as those elements are definitely not part of the lore of this world. But it doesn’t mean there's no connection to the older games of the series. Actually, if you know the "ancient universe" you should keep your eyes open while exploring the world of Might & Magic X...

In fact, while Might & Magic Raiders was being developed it was decided that "adventurers" were known colloquially as "raiders" in Ashan. So that's why we're also using the term in MMXL.
The story of MMXL is unrelated to the story of Raiders, although I did put a few nods to that game in Legacy. A couple of characters meant to appear in Raiders are in Legacy, and all mentions to the "battle of Hammer Fall" are references to Raiders. Even if the game was cancelled, its story is still considered part of the timeline
By the way, hi everyone I realize it's my very first post here (although I've been lurking around for years ^^)

Hi Marzhin never thought you'll end up here.
I just read the Acid cave QaA where they say some parts of Raiders have been added into the game (they mentioned the raiders titel I noticed aswell)
But since you came to us. Ho do you, the patro of the game, feel about the story? Did ubi even try to move the game from Karthal to Hammerfall?

Well as I said a couple of characters show up in both games (or would have) and there's a similar theme of raiders having adventures and exploring dungeons, etc., but that's about it.

Nope, never. Raiders' cancellation happened when production of Legacy was already underway, so our story was pretty well-defined by then.
One thing that never changed since my very first pitch for MMX was the fact the game would take place in and around Karthal. I've always wondered what was going on in that city since it appeared on the Heroes 5 world map

But as a lore freak I know you are.. aren't you a bit sad you won't know more on that city.
Or better to say, you know it, but that we will maybe never find out.

I'm pretty sure all the work done on Hammer Fall will be used some day. How and when I don't know, but we all think it would be a waste to never use it

Hammer Fall was one of the Free Cities of the East, right?
I hope we visit it one day.

Yes, you have some info about it in Vendela's and Erika's bios in H6:
Quote: Vendela immigrated to the Bull Duchy from the Free City of Hammer Fall, a town renowned for its infamous Bloodsmiths. These craftsmen are capable of inserting the legendary dragonblood crystals into master weapons, instilling them with powerful magical powers.
Vendela brought with her the reputation of an able artisan, and acquired an impressive list of nobles as clients. Her work was soon brought to the attention of Connor Falcon, the Holy Emperor himself.
The Archangel Sarah was the first to cast the shadow of doubt upon Vendela, suspecting the crystals she was using bore the mark of Sheogh. After a missive was sent to the newly restored church of Elrath in Hammer Fall, the elders and Bloodsmiths responded, attesting that they had never heard of the imposter, and that she was most certainly a fraud.
In truth, Vendela was inserting Chaos shards - particularly dangerous strains of blood crystals - into the finest weapons, and hence the most trustworthy sword-arms, of the Holy Empire.
Vendela escaped the imperial detachment that was sent to imprison her, killing half of them with two frightful hammers of her own confection. She has resurfaced only recently.
Quote: Born in Stonehelm, Erika started her career as a Wizard-for-hire, and one of the best there was.
Four years ago, she was lured to the Free City of Hammer Fall by promises of adventure and riches, and was among the heroes who fought valiantly against the insidious threat that lurked within the city.
Her mastery of Fire Magic proved her greatest weapon. The rapidity with which she literally incinerated her enemies earned her the nickname of "Flame Strike".
During the events that transpired in Hammer Fall, Erika learned that greed leads only to destruction. A fellow adventurer, Arrio, convinced her to pledge her magical powers to the service of a greater cause. She followed him to the Pao Islands to assist the Orcs in their fight for freedom.
