Quick Rules Question
Please bear with me, I'm sure the answer is obvious, but I can't figure it out, so I hope someone could please enlighten me.
Since the Rules asks for no off-topic posting, how am I to go about starting a discussion about a topic which already exist, but the post I'd like to post would divert the already existing thread of its current take on the topic (and thereby be off-topic)?
Edit:
Come to think about it, I should probably add a disclaimer to nip any assumptions on faul intention in the bud.
1) The sole reason of this thread is to find out how one can start a discussion of a topic, if said topic already exists in a different thread, but approached differently.
2) I'm well aware Corribus was in his full "right" to move the thread, and I don't think he did anything wrong. I am completely convinced he behaves to the best of his belief. I hope this won't develop into a thread about right/wrong. Only suggestions on how to avoid trouble under the circumstances presented. (See 1) )
3) Collecting threads based on topic is a good idea. The main problem is the linear thread structure of HC, requiring thread hijacks and leads to clustering.
Edit: Since it doesn't look like this thread generates any answers, I was wondering if it could simply be deleted?

Ah, I see where your problem lies, did you consult a mod whether s/he thinks that the course to which yer trying to divert a topic to is considered off-topic?
But you make a fair point about thread cluttering and people going off on tangents, making some threads somewhat hard to follow (especially for someone new to the topic in question).
