Adventure Pillars

The adventure Pillar is a new object which will trigger more than 40 events (only nice ones so you don't crazy reload) and is visitable once/week. You can select manually which object/percentage will replace in the game and  is compatible with wog/revised. The mod has its own template in Mod/data folder, which is a modified tesseract template (author of the original: Algor), suitable for XL/XXL no under maps. To play other templates, rename or delete it.

Please inform me if any bugs left. The readme.txt contains a list of all possible events. Submit your ideas and if valuable and not too crazy, I may add them to the list. Events vary from giving random stat or specific artifact to magically blessing your army with spells/speed/HP for 7 days, or giving commander's artifact or skills he does not have.

I tried to remain under the limit which breaks the game balance, anyway wog is for fun and if you think it is too imba, enable Conquistador mod and get slaughtered.

Updated at same link, now there are 40 events in the list. Added F2 key to show un-visited pillars in player's visible range. Added event of precognition, which will reveal what all the other pillars offer. Added bless events.

proved to be a game break because I could steal relics in treasure area and it was fun at first, but one week later I had won the map with.

I let only the movement bonus, same link.

Pestilence and mental teleport added to events. First makes your hero invisible for AI, the second let you visit distant bonus objects without moving. Also you can get track of all your blesses and re-activate them before they vanish.

Tested and released final. Fixed a few incoherences, added advanced search and tweaks. List of events:

The bonus value is changed every day, its nature once a week. This means for example, that if you visit a pillar which offers one random stat, the day after the stat proposed may change, but will still offer a random stat for the whole week.

F2 key: allow locating all unvisited pillars. If watcher's ring is active, you can do a customized search (for example, show only pillars giving expert logistic). To activate watcher's ring, you must find a pillar who reveals what all other pillars offer for 7 days. Therefore it is possible to see what they offer for the whole game if you find and regularly visit such pillar every 7 days.

Added custom sounds for all events.


Reuploaded on 21.11: fixed coordinates of pillars replacing certain objects as learning stones and CB's. Added UN:C black magic by Bersy which reduces the demolition/rebuild town delay to one day and removes ghosts to recruit

I was having some problems with the generation of random maps in the Maps Editor, the editor was giving me an error "Unhable to generate random map"

First I tought it was related to the instalation of HotA in another directory, then that it could be a problem with the XXL mod.

Both proved wrong, I can generate the maps if I disable the "Adventure Pillars" mod.

Did you knew this?

Do you ever read the mod descriptions? I am asking because you keep asking both for Conquistador and Pillars things which are already explained in the read me.

Pillars: contains teserrat rmg which has its own settings (3 players, no underground).

If you want another template, rename or delete from Pillars the rmg.txt, then play any you like.

One question regarding replacing objects, for example creature banks. Replacmnet is done before wogification, during wogification or after wogification? What percentage should be chosen for balanced object replacments during wogification.

Done before because I don't like what wogification uses as percentages.. Myself I play with no wog objects at all except sometimes emerald towers-if Conquistador enabled. For example, if emerald towers replace 10% of imps caches, they will replace 10% from remaining ones after you selected for pillars.

I usually design my own templates for random maps and it happens that in the treasure range I like there are prisons with very high level heroes. As I don't like them I set the replacement to 10, means 100%.

Yes, one specific pillar allows you to demolish and rebuild towns, thus is disabled at start.

I'm sorry, I fact I often don't read the info on the mods since I only descovered it existed recently.

Did you notice that if you restart a game afther visiting an Adventure Pilar you may still have the bonus in the other attempt?

Is the first time I notice this but I have a Rockfeller bonus(money for destroing creatures) before I visit any pilar and I got it I my last attempt.

Yes this is WoG feature, variables keep their value if the game is not closed. Better close the game and restart, however not big deal in pillars.

I still didn't get what are those templates with names - when I create a ramdom map it gives me a very large number as seed, not a name... but I did what you said, renamed the rmg file to oldrmg. What I didn't notice until I saw myself without any mithril is that my "Mithril Smelther" mod had stoped running. I think one thing is related to the other, I'm I right?

Not sure I understand all that you're saying, but those things aren't really connected. Mithril smelter will work only with WoG revised, and anyway no mod is conditioned by rmg template anyway.

If you don't know what is a template, look in HD mod folders, I think it holds the best of templates. And Era works with HD, so you should be able to generate any of them and still use mods.

What I was saying was that I tought the "Mithril Smelther" got disabled when I changed the rmg file but now I don't think so.
What must have happened was that when I was trying to understand what was wrong I switch the priorities between the "Mithril Smelther" and the "WoG Revised" and I didn't notice.
