as a big fan of might and magic and heroes,
i've planned a new magic system
based on MM6,MM7,MM8 H3 and H4

I still think body is kind of forced. I dispel should be ok. I like some of the proposals though. The game could benefit from 1-2 more schools.

Thank you for sharing your ideas with us,looks very interesting!

But I don't get why you want summon boat to be level 2 spell?
Imagine you get out from one-way telepoter on cursed ground,where you could summon a boat before(when the spell was 1st lvl)and now you are stuck thanks to this change.

yes, body is maybe the most forced school,
but if dispel is a level 5 spell.
this body school, turns more necessary.

Yes. Absolutely yes. But spells would need new icons, since most icons are aligned to the old school.
P.S. Did you know that the old version of Heroes III was supposed to have this system? I saw once a video of the Heroes III pre-alpha in youtube and it had the "Dark School" in Spellbook with MM6 Icons for spells.

This is not "system idea", rather the wishlist of spells. Ideas have some grounds and explanation, you know.

You need to explain, firts of all, WHY does this list make any sense. Then tell the details, for example how magic schools are learned and how they are distributed in the towns etc. If certain creatures are immune to certain schools. Are there any special abilities or artifacts that work with or against certain spells.

And, of course, if it's balanced.

yeah!

basically this is not a revolucionary idea, (about how spells are learned, etc...)
is more a idea for adding spells, and adding spells for delete the repeated  in game, like "shield, magic arrow, etc...."

I like that both MIGHT and MAGIC heroes, are well separated, so to differentiate them better, and not catching a hero of MIGHT and teach only 4 schools (4/8 possible skills) and learn all spells of the game.

In my opinion, there are some skills, that never can be learned for a MAGIC hero (like, artilley, attack, armor, Warfare, Navigation, etc..)

some ideas

dark and light schools, dont need any expanation in the MM universe.
possibly, only can be learned with necromancers and clerics heroes respectively only.
and maybe, the other magic heroes of every town, can reach a basic on this schools. like MM8.
like all MM games, dark and light are the most powerful schools.

personally, i like the idea of a curative school, like MM6-8. instead of a only spells for this.

elemental schools, are the schools with more damage spells, to not repeat spells, i added some for every school.

-magic arrow only in earth, so have to create spark and fire arrow
-1 or 2 for area damage per school
-1 for a concentrated best damage per school (incinerate = implosion, for example)
and others.

in mind school, i have grouped, all "mind" related spells (berserk, forgetfulness, telekinesis), and added some damage spells.

spirit is personally the most discutible school, here are grouped, spells related to the spirit as well as those related to the "mother Nature".

about the affinity of schools with factions, i planned this.
probabilities for spells appearance in every faction:

Remove Obstacle(Lv2)
Flying Fist(Lv2)
Stone to Flesh(lv3)
Regeneration(Lv4)

Also, Life Drain needs to be in the "Dark" section while the Precision in the Mind Section.
