I'm effing tired of this ranting all day, so I'm gonna make this fantasy world for y'all to play in.


HARKLEN

OK, the point of this RP is to make an ever changing world where all sorts of stuff happen . There won't be a GM here, so I'm asking of everyone to be considerate of their character's actions. This means that I will, too, participate in the game.
Anyways you can create multiple characters for yourself if you wish. The idea is to make this RP as freeform as possible and reignite the fire over which Glade dwellers... err... Dwell

Now, Harklen is a vast world set in your common fantasy medieval times with a lot of knights, kings, witches, peasants, creatures, etc.

I'll see if I can find enough time to make a world map for this, although it's gonna take me a lot of time to do that. In the meantime, you can add your ideas for the looks of the world and I'll try to include them in the map.

There won't be a specific character sheet for the RP - means that you can make your own and enjoy the freedom of character creation the way you like it!



There are several larger landmasses in Harklen and the starting place for our characters can be:

1) Adarmis  - Adarmis is the continent situated in the southern parts of the world and it is home to many a race: Humans, Fae, Birdmen, Drakks, Ogres, Taurens, Nantross and Lighuns. The climate is mostly stable and very similar to that of Eastern  Europe.  There are a lot of mountains and caves, forests and lakes, however, there are no deserts or tundras.

2) Ythillion - Ythillion is a small continent located around the equator. It's tropical forests are a home to Orcs and Human pirates who use the sheltered bays of this large island to hide their ships and bounty. Ythillion is being explored by adventurers.

3) Tarquiss - Tarquiss is a vast continent in the eastern parts of the world noted for it's three large regions.   They are actually  so large that they count as subcontinents which form a single, gigantic landmass.  
The first region is called Baktor.  It is known for the low temperature, and very few creatures manage to survive here.  One of the creatures that has made Baktor it's home is the Frostcrowned Boar for which Dwarves moved from Adarmis in search for it's tusks which make excellent tools.
The second region is called Sudimis.  Sudimis is recognized for many Human ports on the coasts and high peaks located deeper into the land. The mountains were once a home to a race of ancient beings which relied on their enoirmous strength which allowed them to shape the mountains themselves.  Other than Humans, Goblins and some Lighuns can be found here. There is also a portal leading to a different world somewhere in the mountains. Only Lighuns know of it's exact location, but they are not willing to share that with other races.
The third region is called Dragonland as it is the home to Dragons and their distant relatives Drakks.  Dragonland is filled with deserts and dragons lairs situated at the peaks of the mountains.  Drakk settlements are built near oases and provide a shelter for travelers who come to search for the lost tomb of the Elder Dragon King.



RACES:


Humans
Typical all-around characters which don't excell at any skill. Can be male or female.

Orcs
Now focused on natural magic rather than pure strength. Green-skinned and built larger than humans. They live in their villages on Ythillion.
Can be male or female.

Ogres
They are massive beings with great strength. Cannot be used as characters becaise of their wild nature (somwhat of a cave-man).  They reside in their mountain villages on Adarmis.
Can be male or female.

Goblins
Small in size, yet great in numbers. They live on Tarquiss in their shanty towns. Goblins aren't hostile by nature and are actually in quite good relations with the human port towns.
Can be male or female.

Taurens
Honorable denizens of Adarmis' forests who worship the God of the Heavenly Forest. Taurens are strong in both body and mind, and they don't usually wander out of their lands.
Can be male or female.

Dwarves
Dwarves are the only sentient beings in Baktor.  Their craftmanship is known all around the world and their neverending quest for engineering has led them to the discovery of many devices (guns and cannons excluded).
Can be male or female.

Nantross
Nantross are amphibious lizardmen who seek to conquer the dry world. They are often found around larger lakes on Adarmis in their fortified strongholds. Nantross use water magic,  but are also infamous for their hunting skills. Nantross warriors are known to scour the seas in search for human ships to attack. Cannot be used as characters.
They are genderless.
 
Lighuns
Lighuns are an ancient race originating from Tarquiss. Their use of magic has allowed them to create a portal to a new world, or so the story tells. Lighuns are a force not to be reckoned with as their infantry uses magically enchanted weapons and armor; their motives, however, are purely peaceful and they don't interfere with the others' politics.  Lighuns live in big cities in Sudimis and in Human settlements in Adarmis, though the main part of the population thrives in Tarquiss.  Cannot be used as a character.
Can be male or female.

Birdmen
Birdmen, or Hawk-people as some call them, are a race of human-like birds. They have a body similar to that of a human except for their head and feet which are that of a bird. Their large wings allow them to fly,  although their size prevents them from flying over great distances.  Birdmen populate the mountain caves on Adarmis.  
Can be male or female.

Drakks
Drakks are distantly related to Dragons,  although they have developed a more humanoid appearance. Drakks are famous for their fighting skills and wisdom.  They are found in Dragonland's oases and on the hills of Adarmis.
Can be male or female.

Dragons
Dragons are great beasts of Tarquiss who once ruled the world before the coming of the newer races. Dragons are wise and calm,  but can be protective and extremely dangerous. Now,  the remaining Dragons reside in Dragonland and don't have much contact with the rest of the races. Cannot be used as a character.
Can be male or female.

Fae
Fae are magical beings born out of the wind. The Fae can be found only on Adarmis. They live in large groups led by the Fae Queens and are quite beautiful.
Fae are exclusively female.

This is why I wanna make a real freeform RP - you can never say that your character is stuck and can't do anything without the intefiring of a GM; you can always find a way out and continue the game.

Name: Bob

"Physical" appearance: Anthropomorphic walrus

Biography:

Originally a denizen of another realm, the paranoid background vocalist-turned-adventurer walrus now finds himself in a completely new land. His original powers appearing mostly intact, he now seeks to understand what the hell he's supposed to do here.

Equipment:
-A huge, curved, black bow with an assortment of fiery runes scattered all over it, whose possible meaning is a mystery to all(Even to Bob, though he pretends otherwise), which was clearly meant to be sufficiently OP to give Bob a fighting chance; Its range and power are supposed to be superior to all the other available bows, any projectile fired by it should lock onto the intended target(s), and it is uncommonly light. Unfortunately, for some reason, it cannot be drawn, so these qualities remain unconfirmed, except for its apparent weightlessness. The reason why Bob holds onto it (willingly, for he seems unable to lose it) is twofold; Since it looks very threatening, its mere presence is usually enough to avoid a fight altogether (Of course, no one apart from Bob knows that as a weapon, it is currently useless), and Bob secretly hopes against hope that one day, he will learn how to fix it, and therefore use it. Though he wouldn't admit it, it is actually his most prized possession - the base of his belief that things happen to him for a reason he may once uncover.  

-A pair of long, slightly curved tusks, his primary means of self-defense aside from his strong front fins. He now uses them expertly to ward off all kinds of attackers -which is made easier by the fact that since his general buffing by Dave, they are unbreakable and coated in a potent poison, which immediately weakens and slows injured attackers, eventually (in most cases, after thirty-odd minutes) rendering them incapable to fight or escape.
The poison is a kind of emergency weapon- at most three or four doses are available at any given time, and once these are exhausted, Bob has to wait a couple of hours for it to be replenished by his glands.


He carries no armor, as his wrinkled, naturally thick skin makes it difficult for ordinary weapons to cause him serious harm - it is not impossible, it just requires more force than usual to wound him, and, given his size, he can easily shrug off the first few blows. In addition, Dave modified his "skin"'s stats, so that it is now considered to be the equivalent of a moderately good set of light armor by the program.

-His whiskers are an invaluable asset: They offset his rather weak eyesight, and allow him to move swiftly(at least swiftly for his size) and surely in near-absolute darkness. They are very vulnerable, and Bob doesn't even dare think about what would happen to him without them. He is very proud of them, as they look very impressive.


-A quiver filled with various useful miscellaneous items(rope, string, knife, hook, torch, flint, crude lockpicks, etc.) as well as a dozen of steel-tipped arrows.


Powers, abilities
-A very beautiful singing voice(Think early Kareen Meshagan)
-Unbreakable tusks, which may be poisoned if the need arises - the poison may be harvested from his glands, and can be used separately(for a limited time, before it goes bad. If it does go bad, it smells strongly of honey, but ingesting it causes no apparent side effects. Taste yet unknown), if Bob so chooses, though this temporarily depletes his reserves, with all its usual consequences
-Thick, armor-like skin, which keeps him warm even in the coldest of environments
-The ability to swim underwater for long periods of time-even under a layer of ice, like most walruses
-Possesses a bow and a quiver from which he cannot be separated for long-if he is disarmed, or leaves them behind etc, they automatically respawn in his inventory  shortly afterwards
-The ability to stand upright, though he prefers to move around on four(slightly mutated, hence "anthropomorphic") fins
-Senses nearby movement and objects, thanks to his whiskers
-Is shortsighted
-Advanced cognitive ability- he is quick to react, and can improvise
relatively easily (A bit like MacGyver)
-Hastily hacked together- at any given time, the above powers may randomly(read:whenever the GM says so) change, stop working, produce unexpected results, be weakened/intensified/reversed or otherwise glitch out for a limited time. ADDENDUM: Not only his powers, but Bob himself can be affected by this. He is not automatically aware of these glitches- for example, he needs to see his reflection before he can realize that he turned pink.

But there's also a bunch of other continents not mentioned in the OP,  as well as other races living there and A PORTAL TO A NEW WORLD READY TO BE EXPERIENCED!  I have only done a bit of a lore which is far from complete and you are free to add your parts.
Cope with me,  I have to keep this going somehow and since noone except Poly made a character,  I had to bring in some preset stuff.

Appearance: Reasonably tall; looks skinny, yet he has a chubby stomach; wears a Nirvana hoodie, black jeans and black sneakers; brown hair; green eyes.
Bio: Woke up in a forest on Adarmis and found his way to a Tauren tribe. Now he's trying to figure out how the heck did he manage to get there.
Inventory: His clothes; a small notebook and a pen in the back pocket.

I like the sound of this and as I haven't been involved with the Glade for a while, I think I will get stuck into this one.

I will create a Drakk I think.  So need a little time to come up with a character.

My Character - 'Aura'

Lady Myrrh D'Rho Ksk y Mnesz Oudh Ilyinyasin - aka Aura  

As the only child of Count Maeryk Ilyinyasin, the VIIth Hereditary Constable of the vast and ancient Rho Ksk Duchy, Aura had a wealthy and privileged upbringing.  She enjoys extremely high status and wields immense power.  Educated to the highest standards, she speaks several languages and is an adept and respected ambassador.

Aura's mother, the Lady Cil y Mnesz, Countess Ilyinyasin died when Aura was only 4 years old.  Sent away by her grieving father, she was taken to the 'Castle of the Skies', in the extreme north of the Rho Ksk empire, and there was educated, counselled and advised by the
secretive 'Brotherhood of the Dragonborn' and the Elders of the High Counsel of Dragons.

Age At least 2000 years old

Appearance  See above.  As a Drakk, Aura is covered in very fine, yet strong scales.  These scales are heat and water proof and are iridescent.  Aura does not have any one particular color.  She shimmers like the feathers on a Kingfisher - green and blue colors that cause a scattering of jewel-like sheen.  She has two horns that grown from her temples.  These horns curve into a sharp tip and are embellished with gold chains and jewels.  Everything else is hidden under a a full flowing heavy gown of finely turned gold chains (think scalemail).

Powers  Aura retains her fire dragon heritage and can spew molten fire to a considerable distance.  She is also highly practiced in the magical arts, especially necromancy (although this is kept secret).  Aura can also achieve flight.  Her wings are like bat wings, in that they are made from a thick membrane covering strengthened bone and are densely scaled.  Drakk's wings can be used in battle as they have wickedly sharp ends and can be used highly effectively in knocking things down and smashing things.

Additional Information.

The Duchy of Rho Ksk is located on the continent of Tarquiss, occupying the majority of the extreme north east of the Dragonland region.  Rho Ksk is noted for its vast extremes in landscapes and temperature.  The central regions being more moderate continental and the coastal and mountainous areas frigid, bleak and almost uninhabitable. There is one notable and safe port on the perilous coast of Rho Ksk where it is safe for ships to dock and the small town that has grown up around it is now called 'Caaln'.

Most towns are situated in the central regions, nestled between vines and lush arable land.  

Rho Ksk's capital and grandest city is 'Hjaalnuur', where the Palace of Mirrors and the Dragon's Tread dominate the city.  This city is famous for its beauty, Drakk architecture, flora and fauna.

Rho Ksk's second major city is 'Kaljkys', which lies close to the borders of Baktor.  This city is built over the Klaaskt Mines and dark smoke often engulfs the city completely.  It is the industrial hub of Rho Ksk.

Drakk's are very tall (males approx 8 to 9' tall, females 8') and all are powerfully built, especially the males.  Yet despite their size, Drakk females are known for their charm and graceful movement.  Drakk females, especially those of high status, wear elaborate, heavily jewelled and embellished gowns.  As the daughter of a constable, Aura wears gowns made from finely threaded gold and silver.

There are two types of Drakk.  Those born with functioning wings and those without.  Those without functioning wings often have their winglets/stumps removed within a few months of birth.  To compensate for the loss of wings, they evolve a powerful tail and are sometimes referred to as 'water dragons' or 'runners'.

Drakk's born with wings are taught to tightly fold them against their backs.  Female Drakk's can accomplish this better than males and some can even give the appearance of not having wings at all.  Female Drakk's with wings have them stitched into their gowns to look more humanoid.  However, the wings are highly functioning and Drakk's that have them, can achieve flight just as easily as their Dragon ancestors.
