What Would be a Good Storyline for HOMM 5 3rd Expansion?
Hey guys, this is one of the use your imaginations thread.
So, I would really have preferred Ubi to add a 3rd expansion for HOMM 5 with Nival still being the developers since HOMM 6 turned out to be a disappointment. Nothing kept me interested. HOMM 6 is just a flop all around from campaign to bad selection of creature lineup to the reduced number of factions to omitting two of my favorite factions: Sylvan and Academy (which I'm actually thankful for. Some people here knows my reason) to the unbelievably, teeth-grinding bugs. Ugh, it's just a total mess.
Anyway, back on topic. What do you think would be a good storyline for HOMM 5 expansion 3. This doesn't have to be logical, use your imagination.
How about what happens after Sareth opens the portal of Sheogh.
So, factions in the campaign should include Inferno and Sylvan since they're the last 2 original factions that doesn't have a 2nd campaign. New faction is ofcourse Sanctuary.

Say...How about...NONE what-so-ever, sounds?
Because, there will never be a 3rd Expansion.
Maybe you should ask the modders in the Heroes 5's Modders Forum to guide you in a constructive path towards enlightenment of where and when you are, now.
Hint: The game of Might and Magic Heroes 5: Tribes of the East is at version 3.1 and was fully completed on the season of Winter of the year 2008. That was a solid 6 years ago, dude.
Only a full fledge Modification Expansion like W.o.G. for Heroes 3 but, for Heroes 5 instead, will ever, be possible for this aging title.
Have a wonderful day playing MMHeroes 5 version:?, buddy.

Of course I know that but it would have been fun if they continued HOMM 5 . HOMM 6 sucks in every proportion, and it's not just the gaming experience, it's the creature selection.
But I'll not expand on that, I've been silenced by the people here. I still believe what I believe, only in silence. I wonder if they'll tolerate a reverse gender of what I did.
Anyway, I hope Ubi will not pick Blackhole or any other developer that shares the same mindset. Pick Nival again or any other developer that values quality over personal ideologies.

It would not be easy to continue the storyline right after tote, unless it involved Raelag's search and other background stories. And even then there would be no real conclusion but rather a cliffhanger about what happens after the events of dark messiah. Those stories would serve as a prologue at best.
For me the only reasonable timeline would be the events following Sareth's choice, preferably him keeping the skull for something more.. interesting. Sareth is a character with incredible potential, without having to turn out an archetypal villain.

That is not the point, here, Elvin.
JeremiahEmo does not seem to realize the reality of the deceased situation of both of these developers(Bankrupt, disbanded,do not exist anymore).
And, that the late british one ended its contract with Ubisoft for both Heroes 6 and Might and Magic 10(X).
Now, we will need to find another one to pick up where the Might and Magic Heroes' franchise left off. But, this time around, make a serious step backwards towards how MMH5 made fans come back to the series. I seriously think that the Might and Magic Heroes Online made possible by a Chinese developer could assign a partner branch of developers to make a stand-alone edition of the same online type of the game they've already made for PC and Mac alike. It is only up the European and Californian branches of Ubisoft to find a way to pull it off.

If we say about some Heroes 5 expansion after TotE we should to pay attention to this two facts:
1st - words of Fabrice Cambounet about patch 3.1:
Another question will probably be, is it the last patch ?
No, it is not. We have more planned, even if we are closer to the end than the start of the patch plan at this stage. We have some more content for Tribes, and even (hopefully) an important upgrade. But that will come later - no tentative date.
2nd - this "old bones" that were found in resources files of TotE:
I think this two facts are linked. So, I have no doubt that there were some story after TotE about Nagas, but what was that I am afraid we will never know. But may be some were some one will ask Ubi about this old stories and they will give us the answer...
Anyway, there is no time for Heroes V - Heroes VII is coming...

I knew it! ToTe seemed too lacking to be the last expansion. It was like, they were planning for something more.
I'm guessing there was a planned expansion after ToTe and that something happened that made them abandon HoMM 5.
regretful. I think I would have liked this Naga version instead of the HoMM 6 one. Anything that's made by Nival and not Blackhole would be good in my book.
But yeah, part of the reason why I think there was a planned third expansion is because I'm bitter Sylvan never got a 2nd campaign.

Ah yes, the promised content that never came. Too bad TotE work ended in 3.1, I'd had loved to see what they had in mind in action

The above does not prove that nagas were planned with H5 in mind Or perhaps they were considered as the tote race instead of orcs. What I am fairly certain of is that there were no plans for an extra addon/race after tote.

I think those are sort of tests for H6 Sanctuary in the H5 engine or something. The hero looks nearly identical to the final H6 design, and the female naga is similar to the Pearl Preistess aswell.

Wait a second, I just recalled something in my vast mind about...
T.o.t.E. being a complete redux of the game. Not only to be highly compatible to the newest Operating System of that time(Win. Vista-6)and, being a completely installable by itself by being called: Stand-Alone Edition of MMHeroes 5: "Expansion".
Plus, making it extremely adaptable to modification by fan-based modders. So...Instead of being called a "3rd Expansion"...How about: Very 1st Expansion to the last Edition of Heroes 5: T.o.t.E. as an Add-On Eastern Tribe that would be situated where the Ashan Archipalego Islands are? Besides, the word Tribes is plural as in more than one eastern mainland tribe(Newly found or discovered faction that laid itself dormant-reclused from contact with the other well-known factions of Ashan.
The more I get to think of this, the more my proposed changes for Heroes VII could be implemented, already, in this completely renewed Edition-Version of Heroes 5. Maybe, a new package as a Stand-Alone Completed Edition of the Title that would see its version upgraded all the way to 4.0.
As I recall, Heroes III Complete had an executable file being at version 4.0. Does that ring a bell? To anyone of you? At least, I do.

well, my first impression when I started playing Tribes of the East, no campaigns played in that expansion yet, I only saw the names Gotai, Arantir, Quroq, and Zehir. I thought there were 3 Orc campaigns lead by 3 Orc heroes and Zehir of Academy.
Personally, I would have preferred that over the one that Tribes of the East turned out. I hate that it alternated from one hero to another (Arantir-Orenalla, Gotai-Kujin), we can't fully develop our characters. A better implementation of that would have been to choose which your main character for that campaign is: Arantir or Ornella? Gotai or Kujin? Then Zehir is mandatory.

Campaigns are for the RPG lovers, not the strategy,
board game like fanatics like myself.
Also, you do not like how the story is told and, how the main characters are chosen by the story tellers of the lore of that world, well... that is a thorough: Tough luck buddy and, endure while its replayability lasts.
Other than that, an RMG provided that option or sets of options regarding the fixed or non-fixed choice of which hero is used as a 1st hero to use on day-turn one of that specific map. That is where, Heroes 6 failed miserably to include in its package of map making-editing's infrastructure. Too much story based playing and, not enough relativity left to the players to choose from.
Sorry for bringing the nightmare of Heroes 6 back but, I thought it necessary to do so, for making my argument a tried and true one.
