Don't forget that the ones who write the book of history are the victorious ones. Besides - Romans and Greeks with their amazing architectural, mathematical, juridical (this refers especially to Romans) and linguistic skills surpass Carthaginians! Creatures from which mythology are basis of HoMM games? Greek mythology. On which country was Falcon Empire inspired? Roman Empire, of course. Romans and Greeks are AWESOME!
PS I consider this Thermopylae reference as rather amusing than hatred-inciting.

Markhal! I would really want him back. Im alittle unsure if he can though...seeing as he did not only die, he got banished by a mage.
But some new faces would spice everything up a whole lot

I disagree. Not because i dont like them but because they give readabily problems to the image and id rather see the hero properly

Ah, I thought so, but you might also have been referring to the Goblin Tyraxor.
But personally I don't see why a female Haven hero named Tyris, who specialises in Cavaliers with a similar background isn't possible. It would be very welcome as far as I am concerned.

well you got to admit that the ancient greeks were the first ones to many many things. while other civilizations where a little behind on these topics... they deserve a little glory.
lets not debate this here though.
butwe could see some more mythological references than greek for a change. I'd like an ashan faction to resemble india a little.

I'm not really one to clamour for individual heroes to return, but there's a couple of Stronghold characters I wouldn't mind seeing again: Shiva (for being a cutie. :3) and Yog (for being particularly distinct)... or at least a variation of him.

Sure. Markal is in 2 game H5 (Takes place at 969) where he is an old man, and CoH (takes place at 929) where he is a young adult (17-30).
H7 takes place around 843 aprox. 60 years before his birth and 120 before his death. There is no info that Markal became a lich/Vampire during his life, or that he undertook any other form of life preservation. So that is why he most likely not born yet. It is not a 100% certainty since the devs are free to retcom anything.

Who is Markhal? I never heard about such hero.
Markal in H5 is more then 50 years old. He is at least 20, maybe even close to 30 in Clash of Heroes (ca. 931 YSD) and HoMM5 takes place 40 years later (969 YSD).
And yes, he was too young in CoH to live or even to be born during HoMM7 (853 YSD).

Well, since Shiva was in HVI, I don't think well be seeing her again.

There's definately similarities between the two versions of Shiva. There's little doubt in my mind that the HVI one is an hommage to the one from HIII & HIV.
