OS Comparison

So, what do you Windows people think about this? I'm mostly a Mac user myself.

Win 7 ultimate edition is the best Windows, 8 is a complete horror.

I have not used Windows 8

windows 7 is fantastic- no bugs, problems, interface is very friendly and easy to use

Vista is absolute ****- the first run and the first lock down

Windows 98 and Xp are decent and reliable

I would not choose a hammer to illustrate the OS evolution it would need to be something that would represent the user losing easy control of his own PC. i.e. a tug-of-war rope where each new releases show less of the rope in the user's hands. Or a strong bank safe that ends being a torn shoebox with holes.

With 98 I had complete control of everything. iirc I ok'd no more than a dozen or so .exe s  and did anything I do now except for U-tube Docs.

But now? The number of dlls etc. is staggering; everything must talk with everything else and all for the benefit of who?...sure as heck not me.

A while back, someone accurately said the "Enter-net"
