The one from combat seems to be right. And ofc is capped as Hero maximum spell power is 127. Then you can only increase with scripts.

In SoD/HotA maximum SP is 99 (100+ SP always works as 99) and I've seen no inconsistency between spell description in combat and in hero window. Maybe on that screen SP is >99 and it works properly in battle and works as 99 in hero window spell description. In this case it is WoG problem and a reason not to test things in WoG when when it comes to SoD.

This is a SoD bug which is fixed (or to better say, it finally displays correctly) in wog. But it remains a serious sod bug.

No, that is not a bug. Every time, when the game need to get access to hero SP, it compare it with 99 and if it >99 it assume that SP = 99 (this is true for any primary skill). And it is not only displayed as 99 - it really works as 99 in all game mechanics. Such thing can't be just a mistake (I have great experience in analyzing Heroes 3 code, so I usually can distinguish a bug and a feature). NWC specially made this limit: maximus value of primary skill = 99. The only bug is that when increasing this skill over 99 more and more it can be reseted to zero (and it is not fixed in WoG as far as I know).
In WoG primary skill value limit is moved to 127 - ok, but it is just a feature, not a bugfix. And it seems like this feature has a bug - SP may be is incorrect in hero screen spell description.

Look, I know you have great experience with H3 code and you know how the limit of 99 works.

I cannot let you say it isn't a bug because it IS one. What happens in Hota and SoD if at one moment I am at 99 attack, then next days I continue to visit attack bonuses? After +29 attack, my attack goes back to 1, without warning. So you consider skill 99 going back to 1 is not a bug?

In wog the skill value is displayed until 127 (and has effect in battle) and the player knows at every moment what his primary skills are. in SoD or HoTA he sees 99 but he has no idea how much he can increase this value or not.

I am a player first, and can't count how many times I saw my skills screwed in sod because this bug. Hopefully I can prevent it in wog, now.

It is a bug and I said it in the previous message. And WoG don't fix this bug - skills still go from 127 to 0.

The fact that skills >99 are displayed and work as 99 is not a bug.

WoG has a feature that inform player about skills getting close to buggy values (and maybe even to decrease skill values), but from my point of view it is wrong to say that bug with resetting skills is fixed. As a player I don't want even to know anything about a bug, I want just play and never meet it, and to see in game an information about a bug is nonsense for me (it is like a message "Don't cast this spell, please, it will cause a crash. Click that button first"). It's ok if it helps (often better than nothing), but I always will count it only as temporary solution and not a real fix of the bug.
Maybe you have completly another opinion on such things - ok then, I just stated my opinion.

Anyway, wrong hero screen spell decription seems like not SoD problem.

I didn't say wog fixes it, but it displays the real values. Then we can use a mod (overflow fix) which stores potential extra values (they are shared between primary skills), so the bug is prevented. Just a work around, but at least it helps when playing.

Going from 99 to 127 is quite quick, only the Angelic alliance adds +21 to all stats, then we have XXL maps, pandora boxes so reaching critical values is quite common today.

Apparently I reached a maximum post count of 20 posts yesterday, so I could'nt post anymore and have been at work most of the day today.
Don't really know what to write in this post except that the Armageddon spell is a bit confusing, which number to count on and when. All I know is that it's the most damaging spell in the game and you better hope for some resistance, being able to prevent the spell from being cast or having lots of spellpower and mana for resurrection/animate dead.
The maps I play will never reach statlevels of 99 or 127 so that is no concern to me, I don't play WoG, only HotA.
