If they really have to add an anti-ranged week, 20% is more than enough. And then there should be something similar for walkers and of course for magic.

But it's probably best to avoid such extreme combat effects altogether

Additional option for the week: Range units have 20% or 30% to miss the target on their range attack.

The flaw is: this thing will always be more handicapping for one of players, based on his faction and hero skills. So why put it in first place? In single player, reloading last day of the week to avoid this week feature will become a common habit (who goes battle with a knife when you can have a gun?!). In multiplayer, people will enrage at the stupidity of it.

Such things must remain local mod based, for people who like to whip themselves, test game variations and so. Heroes was always a strategy game style, not role playing where a witch appears from no where and steals all your weekly income. I mean, take Master of Orion 2 and its random effects option. Would you start a 6 hours MP game knowing that any turn your mother planet can switch from rich to poor thus destroying all your efforts?

This is why they let it a configurable option.

I like the sentiment of having weeks being able to heavily influence the outcome of a battle.

As much as I hated being at the receiving end of the week of plague, I still liked that it hurt more my friends (I was a child ok? I didn't develop my towns correctly.) so I could have more of a chance to defeat them.

So, if this is the only week that does this, remove it, if there are others like this I say that they should add more random ill effects to weeks, it'll spice up the game in my opinion.

I actually find week of no retaliation more annoying than week of no shooters. A 50% reduction would have been better imo.

I know, I hate that week it should be the opposite and give a little movement. There seems to be more negative weeks than beneficial ones.
