If there are choices to be made, i don't mind any system. Having a most powerful stack to aim for, and a lot of useless stacks, does nothing but make lineal the build order.

I must disagree with this 'useless stacks'. Every stack in H6 had it's role. Aiming for level 7 creature is good, if you are skilled enough, and you will be rewarded for that. But, saying that other stacks are useless is false. You can do a lot with all of the stacks if you know how to use them, and I don't see usefulness of stack measured only by damage they do. The way you can use them is important too.
Heroes 6 ? Is that a typo ?

You have to follow the context of the conversation to disagree, because you are not really disagreeing with me.

@Keldaur

I don't really get why you speak of min-maxing because it's in h7 all the same... In almost all my games cores ended up being the strongest stacks of the army. There is just too much boosting available for them and those boosts do essentially nothing for champions or strong elites. Ultimately it simply leads to situation opposite of old ones, but now you replace black dragon with stalker or titan with cabir. I don't know do melee units have matching artis for damage, but for ranged units at least you can make insane boosts like quadruple their damage for example(did this in several games). I played the two bigger maps only, but there also the adventure maps dwellings seem to advice player to go for the core units also. IMO the best way to fix this is by lowering the potential boosts to core and giving champions +1 growth from upgrading their dwelling for example. Also grail should definitely give them growth boost too if it does so for other units. Also the town-planner needs a lot more flexibility. It's just ridiculous that high-end buildings essentially require dozen buildings done before you can make them(and not talking about just town-level there).

And even just in general the elites and champions should reflect their name and status. They should always be the stronger option unless you have some specific needs for some role/stat/ability in your army. If you think about h5 cores, they will still have use even in longer games.
peasant brings money so maybe not in main army.
imp drains mana
skeletons you can amass to legions and small boosts do a lot
gremlins can repair and with racial you can boost them how you wish
dryads have synergy with treant, aoe-attack and no retaliation
goblins can again be amassed for very high growth, used as ammo for cyclops and as mana-source for earth-daughters.
stalkers are strong and invisible + poison.
dwarfs are tough and very good as meat-shields.

I will requote myself, because it seems like you skipped that post.

- Growth buildings double the number of creatures, making them in the long run twice as effective.
- Trackers just eat them. And they have a very high offense also, not even close to other t1 creatures (i think it was around 6, when for other T1 core rangeds was offense 1-2).
- Creeping is hilariously easy in this game.

Doubling stats on champions would work, but i prefer if they rebalanced core units (tracker's skill should be -% defense instead, their offense is too high), and growth boost buildings (1,5x should suffice).

Pretty much. I do hope it gets better though. I certainly believe it can.

I was also planning to post this on Steam, but it seems the game has to be released first.

I've linked the review page on one thread.

Added the following edit to the OP and Steam review (now negative):

Edit, 2 November 2015:
Consider the previously mentioned review outdated. In light of the severe technical issues plaguing this already mediocre entry, I cannot in good faith recommend this game. Therefore, after pondering things carefully, I decided to change my public impression of this game. I have disregarded the technical difficulties of the release in hope that they will get fixed relatively shortly down the road, but after over one month of patching, the game is still unplayable, bugridden, crashing and desynchronizing in multiplayer consistently. I tried to like it, I really did, but I think it was about time to face reality.

My patience and understanding had a limit.
