This may very well signal the beginning of the end for Ubisoft's hold on the franchise.
Their Dies Irae Day of Wrath (and doom impending) is upon them now. Let's hope this won't drag out for years and years...it will only impede the further development of H7 and future instalments.

I can see that happening.
I still remember the crap they pulled off at prince of Persia warrior within. Dark and gritty? Check. Sexualized armour/clothing? Check. Generic pissiness? That too.

Dude! Warrior Within was hip as snow! Yeah, it was not an Arabian fairytale anymore, but I can't blame them for it - it's hard to jump the same theme again.
But what they did have worked very well. Yes, it was dark and cheesy about it, but that was exactly what fit the new Prince. I mean, in SoT he was just a random kid who snowed up and made things go boom, but it WW he is much more experienced and knows his way around. He is not slowing down, he knows what he wants and he is ready to kill innocent people for it. Prince of WW is a major snow who may have a change of heart at the end of the game, but who also may not. And the design of the game fit exactly that theme. Dark, sexy, cheesy, brutal and has a charismatic snow in it... God, I miss Warrior Within. Mostly for combat system, though - that was way before its time.

you do realize im talking about Konami right?
and if anything, MM under Ubi is overall becoming LESS sexualized.

Well, as I said before, it's really hard to do the same trick twice. Ubisoft could not make another Arabian fairytale, or they would have done a Forgotten Sands-like abomination, so instead they moved for another approach - decided to explore the origins of the Sands of Time. Except, Sands of Time were shown to be quite brutal and dark in the first game, and if you build a game just around them - it cannot be all sunshine and giggles.
They tried to balance things in PoP:TT and I feel like they did not do a good enough job there. I like SoT and I like WW as a story of a character evolution and Two Thrones as well as Forgotten Sands just do not fit it.

Haha. When I read their "official statement" regarding the US collector's edition on their blog site, I thought they were, like we say in Spanish, opening the umbrella before the rain. Seems like they know what's comming
