There is a Perk in the Destiny Skill tree which takes away enemy retaliations if your units score a critical hit. Are you sure the enemy didn't just use that Perk?

I am talking neutral units as well as enemy heroes without luck. That wasn't it.

So...

When a unit is under the buff of the Legionnaire and is attacked, it doesn't retaliate... I don't know why, but it seems like if the legionnaire is protecting someone, their retaliation is negated.

Played with Haven map 2. I decided to play each map of the campaigns from every faction before going forward to the second map and so on. But... I finished the haven campaign map 1 and when i got back to play map number 2, my hero started from lvl1. I did not reset the campaign, he just was number 1 again. I played through the campaign and got to the point where i need to open the fire gate and.... when it is house materia turn, the AI gets stuck, it never comes out of that turn. So now, i cannot progress.

Some animation hiccups here and there as well, though i did not write them down.

First off let me start with saying I am a huge fan of the heroes series and I was eagerly waiting for the game to be released I also clocked like 100 hours on the two beta events.

I waited patiently for the game to get fixed and actually be worth playing and not just scratching an nostalgia itch that I am feeling at the moment.
I played the released game at least 200 hours now in total and I have to say the game simply does not deliver. I love the art style and I can see that the game is improving from patch to patch but the AI and balancing is so incredibly poor that I doubt this will ever be a game like heroes 5 or 3 unless some major effort is being made.

Balacing:

I tested all factions with various heroes not just in the single player campagin but also on skirmish maps and randomly generated maps my main observations are:

1) Necromancy skill is cool but way to powerful I end up in month 2 onward with 3000+ skeleton which I just teleport across the battlefield with increased initative and there is no chance that this stack can be stopped.

2) Light magic is WAY to strong:
•Blessed armor should either be not that good or other magic school / battle skills need to have damage absord abilities too. I would give other magic schools like earth magic and water magic damage absorbing abilities and remove it from light magic.
•Retribution is also way to strong. Possible fixes are make ranged units not get damaged by it and half the damage or duration of that spell.


3) Earth magic is not good enough:


•Make regeneration a higher tier spell that can also resurrect units or include a damage absorb ability as a tier 3 or 4 spell.



4) Firewall is overpowered make it slightly smaller and make it a tier 3 spell instead of fireball.

5) Non magic heroes need a way to protect / revive dead creatures otherwise light magic will stay way to strong.

6) Leadership: 5 leadership on each rank is not enough, used to be 10 which is a bit too much but as it stands its not good enough.

•Reinforcements should be a master ability and you can redisgn the ultimate ability.
•Reinforcements also does not work as it should. If creatures die during combat they stay dead afterwards instead of being deducted from the reinforcements units.
•Possible solution is making reinforcements a novice ability and increasing the % of units added increase with each rank.



7) Heroes need better logic and variety fo examle elf heroes have prime magic but not light magic.
•There are almost no heroes with luck or leadership on high ranks but tons with warfare.



8) Small units should benefits less from increased defense and offense otherwise they are simply too strong. 4 weeks worth of champions should easily do away with 4 weeks worth of core creatures. Thats not the case at the moment if both have high defense and attack rating.

9) Elite units are lackluster. I would potentially decrease he growth of core units to make elite units look better.

10) Champion units are great but again the need to benefit more from increased offensive and defensive otherwise they are not as essential for mid/end game as they should be conisdering how expensive they are (which is ok).

11) Vampirism ability works randomly and definitely not as intended. Making two of the coolest units the Hydra and the Vampire useless. Please fix!

It would be great if I could get some comments on this so we can get a discussion going and maybe some of these suggestions that resonate with others will be implemented, because as it stands now the game looks nice and is more or less playable but it lacks any sort of depth/balance.

This is the kind of feedback limbic needs I have some more of my own  but perhaps we should have a separate topic for that, to make them easier to keep track of. Once the issues have been identified it will be easier to push for them, according to their priority urgency.

The real issue here is: How much more processing power this unreal engine truly needs

The real reason that the game is so laggy is: Slow video cards and slow RAM cards compared to the main processor die.

In my case, the machine is just turning into a tortoise, the more I get to get updates from Windows Update.

1. RAM must use the maximum bus speeds of the motherboard. Example: 2000 Mhz bus speed of the motherboard = Dual Channel capability of the RAM cards up to 1800 Mhz(900 Mhz a card) My current RAM is only at 1333 MHz on a 2000 Mhz motherboard.

2. Video Card that has a GPU of less than 900 Mhz will badly perform while playing this resource hog of a game such as Might and Magic Heroes VII. Its RAM use must be of the same type as the RAM on the motherboard(1800 Mhz)

This is what is planned by me to do with this renewed motherboard's Bios programming.

As I was writing this post, an update from Microsoft's Windows Update, failed to install while being on to the internet as well. The machine failed to use all of its processing power to properly manage and multi-task the background services and internet related operations. This major peripheral set of internal devices' upgrade is now, become, quite necessary. That is for gaming like not gaming but, productivity purposes also.

Major bugs were not encountered while playing on version 1.1 and, version 1.2. So...will download patch 1.3.1 just for the heck of having it on the game as of this very current moment.

Now, all 7 titles can be played on Windows 10 Home/Pro Editions. Thanks to the good ole' Gog.com people, all the series can be played on any decent multi-core PC.

Since last patch abilities like sweep attack, dragon breath etc. often hit only target ignoring other enemies.
Shade's poison doesn't do any damage.

Bug in D&M

I got a bugged map to report. Dunno if that's the right thread. I m on the current patch so ...


It's dungeon and minions. On the surface their is this paradise with two wizard towns. I got one captured , when I m trying to take it back many strange things happen :

- the guy in the city never dies , he is there with his 19 pixies and 20 dryads and I can kill him over and over , he s still there and the castle never gets to be mine.

-The first time I killed the guy , I got his main castle as a reward (out of the blue) instead of the castle I was attacking. Even so it s nowhere near this castle. I know wizard can be magical but this is too much magic for me

I 'd add a save but i m not sure that those cryptic 00X.shot files are actually saves...ubi stop smoking marijuana please ?

What revision are you on Karanshade? Could you send me game logs and .saves to my email please so I can look into the issue in more detail for you.

Blizzard didn`t works on Brutes.

Blizzard sometimes works sometimes don`t.

Fog Shroud didn`t work on fire elementals and they casted their nova ability.

My map still doesn`t work in patch 1.3 - scripts don`t work for player 2.

You have big problem with stack numbers  - please read my thread : map editor is even worse than h6

only crusher's are "unfettered" no? there are a lot of creatures that are "unfettered"
and yes i can confirm fog shroud does not work with lilims too.
also when i have the perk "leading by example" visually it acts extremely weird. if i choose the hero's strike  it seems as it's being cast 3 times. if i use a spell my whole monitor is filled with lots of  vanishing "leading by example" quotes -.-

Please fix that annoying bug where anyone that has the effect of leggionaire cannot retaliate!!!

Also for crying out loud, nerf the Retribution spell!!! It is very powerful!
