Heroes of Might and Magic Pokemon Mod
This has been a mod I'm working on for several years now. It's a Pokemon mod I'm making for Heroes of Might and Magic II. I'm still looking for artists, but here are some screenshots for what I've done now. What do you guys think?

The heroes are the trainers. I haven't gotten art for that yet.

Oh my... I cannot find right words to express my reaction.
It's something I always wanted to see! To be honest, I had a similar idea back in my teen days, but I lacked everything, from skills to persistence.
I love the idea!
Have you considered making regions/pokemon series different towns? For example Knight would be 1st series (Kanto if I remember correctly), Warlock 2nd series and so on?
If you have no ideas for trainers/heroes I recommend using Gym Leaders.

Sprites on the net definitely have helped. There still needs to be more done though. I'll probably work on the sprite art while looking for someone sometime in a couple of months or so.
I have the six classes planned out already, and most of the pokemon. I have all 60 portraits (not including expansion) already finished, made by myself.

I suggest talking to the guys from the succesion wars mod. They plan to do something like WOG where you can activate certain scripts and deactivate others. If you are smart and knowledgable enough to do this in H2 I'm sure you could do it in H3 aswell, and there are countless benefits for it.
As for the mod, What I would really like is if you would change someonthing. Seeing the same game with new sprites can be fun but could do a lot more with the pokemon concept. What if you would make it impossible to have more than 1 creature in a stack ? I mean, in the show, there's only 1 pokemon fighting another, or a few, you don't have 134 charizards ( thats'the name ?) fighting 80 tortouises (that's not the name ).
This way a player could have 5 pokemons in his team(or 7 if you try it on the SW MOD). Or,if it's possible, make it even less,3 or 4 pokemon fighting 3-4 pokemon.
This way you could make your spells and creatures really count! You could make it much more strategyc, everyone trying to keep their pokemon alive, blocking the path, healing, slowing the enemy etc

I don't think that would work, low tiers would be useless and they would never level up in hit points.

The mostly eternal source of pixel-art units are MUGEN characters collections.
Not many of characters fit HMM3, but most anime characters fit HMM/HMM2.
Of cause there mostly will be only straight attack animations (not up or down animations), but they still will be good looking in game.
Pokemons also have many inmplementations in MUGEN.

Not really. just make it easier to get atk and defense, and ballance it arround that.
For example Lvl 1 : 5 atk,5 def,5-10 dmg 100 HP
Lvl 2 10 atk,10 def, 10-15 dmg 150 hp
lvl 3 15 atk 15 def 15-10 dmg 200 hp
This is only an example, but a hero with High atk and def will make even weak creatures pretty strong. Skilled players will be able to keep their creatures alive and deal massive dmg, and if you ballance it out properly it could make a fun,fair and strategic game!
Sure, it's only an idea. But I think something like this would be much better for a Pokemon themed mod. It's just wierd seeing 50 creatures getting destroyed... I saw the anime years ago when I was a kid, and everyone loved and cared about their pokemon. Sending legions to get slaughtered doesn't really make me confortable...
...and the theme is perfect to try something different instead of just graphics, that's just me though..

The reason it works in pokemon in my opinion is because there are type advantages. I don't see this easily implemented.
The att/def advantage is limited. Basically, at least for HoMM 3, take the creatures base damage, multiply it with 4 and see how large percentage it'd remove of enemy hp. Likewise for optimal defense, take .3 of enemy attack and see how much it deals, etc. That is for optimal conditions and in e.g. HoMM 3, the highest level tiers can hardly be taken out in one attack even with maxed out attack (though it'd deal quite some damage).
I don't like the huge army stacks that basically still is a single creature with a big number below it as well, but removing it entirely doesn't make the game better in my opinion. Low level units are cheaper and have higher growth than high level units, if you remove the growth advantage, it has to be some really poor map for low level units to make sense in my opinion.

This actually looks insane. Always been a fan of Pokemon due to nostalgic reasons as a kid and this looks very, very promising indeed. Keep up the good work.

Looks good. I doubt the buildings could be changed, considering it is odd to them to be in Cathedral or Jousting Arena or some other locations.

Did you consider Homm3 as a template instead of Homm2?
I guess that Homm2 artwork is more cartoonsy and fits the sprites you already have.
Hopefully town dwellings can be changed for e.g Cove in Homm3. I suggest changing the skills artwork to be more Pokemon-themed like leadership being a smiley-trainer hugging a Pokemon or something.
Spell-book could be a Bag and inside are TMs/items instead of spells. Like mass-haste actually X-Speed or Town Portal being Dig/Escape Rope.
This could be a really cool mod like Zubat/Golbat upgrade work like vampire/vampire lords.
