Heroes 2 style?
What out there evokes or reminds of the heroes of might and magic 2 atmosphere and/or imagery style? It doesn't matter what it is, be it another game, a book, literature, artwork, a movie, etc. and also it does not have to be directly linked to anything to do with homm at all. (I'm aware of user-made content on display on this forum, no need to point out those)

It looks like children fables. This style is in MMII-MMV. Simple and colored sprites and pictures. Very nice and absorbing. We have Succesion Wars mod, all in this style. Players likes that atmosphere.
