Starting ATB Value

Some time back, Indral created a no random starting ATB mod. The link doesn't work for me, does anyone know how this was done? If possible I would like the starting atb to range from 0 to +5%.

Indral explains it in that same post, if you have difficulty finding it you could run a file comparison in a hex editor with the exe files from H5.5, since those have reduced ATB randomization.

I am not good with this. Game.exe you mean the one that is in the bin folder? I assume that the fix is possible to isolate and add to a map, like I changed the rpgstats. But where do I find it, under what name and what do I change there?

I have no idea what a hex editor is and stuff like [float constant from 0000803Eh (0.25 decimal) to 00000000h (0 decimal) at file offset 6734F7h] sounds totally alien to my n00bling ears

Yes you have to modify the exe file this is pretty advanced stuff, you cannot isolate it on a map, in fact you cannot isolate the dark+destructive fix either: if you add it to a map you add it to the entire game whenever that map is in the maps folder! Therefore mods are better put in .h5u files otherwise people don't know their game is modded.

If you really want to get into hex-editing/reverse engineering you should first google for some basic tutorials and guides on the internet.

I know it affects the whole game, the goal was to have the fixes of my choice loaded in one map. Very convenient when playing others online as you don't have to check what mods everyone is carrying.

You make it sound like this is more trouble than worth so I'll probably give it a pass. Thanks for your help

yes, if your map was the only one, but there are a hundreds of such maps online, and if each player has a different selection of custom maps installed the game becomes a total mess of unrelated modifications causing desyncs and nobody knows where they came from.
