Let's get this out of the way - 9 factions won't make anything "cool", the game would just pile up more crap. More content would amount for nothing if the game would still be shaky at its foundations. Until they sort out the mechanics and core features (magic and skills mainly) there's no way this game can be appealing. But who am I kidding, I already think it's way too late even for that.

Never say never, reason why I voted that it depends, but I find it pretty unlikely. Realistically, how much can they salvage and for how long? Given how badly the sales went I'm even doubting we'll ever see an expansion. The devs might call it quits after the support contract expires.

Correct. This poll is not about will it happen or not, but that if it happens then... So don't vote "NO" just because you think it wont happen.

On the sales side, I believe that H6's new found sales might actually save...
...the heroes franchise.
Only half of a million $ could be enough to give interest to a much newer and, way more competent than Limbic.
Virtuos is such dev. that is, already, in support contract with Ubisoft as this very moment. Just released an Heroes 6: Complete edition that is on sale at this very moment(until Feb.12th, though).
Do not forget that there are 2 more factions to add to this title and several campaigns to add to the story that has to end the timeline as to just before the start of Ashan's reason to exist as per the start of the tales of Heroes 5's entire compendium of clashes between the undead hordes and the legions of the damned vs. the forces of the true living and holy ones.
Besides, ain't Earth's mutantcy dilemma become the same as per the magical planes of Ashan as per Heroes 5? I do think so.
I think that it is time for both Earth's humans and Ashan humans to consider a higher state of physical evolution via hybrid seeding that will bring a true meaning of the existence of the Homo-Superior's inevitable forthcoming.

I hope you know, that Chinese studio Virtous was contracted by Ubisoft to make "Shades of Darkness" because, why Limbic helped with patching process of Heroes 6 and later created "Might and Magic X", they didn't have enough resources to create expansion pack? And yet Limbic was tasked by Ubisoft to create Heroes 7, not Virtous.

they probably should have used Virtuos instead, couldn't have been worse, they may be a Made In China slave labour sweatshop but at least they have a bit of pedigree in the genre unlike Limbo lol

I suggest you to play (again) Shades of Darkness and see yourself how "great" job Virtous has done. If you will be lucky to not have black screen, I'm sure you will encounter broken campaign scripts (which activate on enemy turn and thus doing nothing and blocking mission progress).
