Hi all, my HOM3C's music is playing too fast.

Hi everyone, I have a ... bug to report about Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete *I play Complete* for some reason, everything else works perfectly but ... the music, every tune ... at title, to battles to kingdom types just end up ... speeding too quickly at many points, then goes back to normal, speeds up, and then back to normal. Does anyone know what ... this could be? I confused : ty in advance if anyone has heard of it or tries to help!

No I swear to God I am NOT a bot- I've played HOM3 since 2000+, but when I installed it it's just not ... the music isn't syncing probably- I only need advice because other places online never heard of the music acting in this way.

Maybe some problem with your audio drivers, check your sound settings and try some tweaks, google, never heard of that either. What's your OS?

Let it be known in the past I ran HOM3 perfectly on this OS anyway- but ... Windows XP, and an optiplex gx620. Music plays fine in ANY OTHER game I have, any Youtube video, any sound effect; it's ONLY through HOM3 that it has that fast paced then slow, then fast paced and again; slow issue. Dang.

Silly question but why are you still using Windows XP? Official support for that ended at least a year ago.

Well it would explain why you are having issues with the sound. You are using an outdated operating system. I am not trying to stress you or anything but I would highly recommend to look into a newer operating system.

But every other older game works perfectly with graphics/music, the MP3 folder of HOM3, they play fine OUTSIDE of the game. INSIDE the game, every tune is ... sped and choppy. You mean no one else has ever had an issue like this?...

I've never had an issue like this and I have been playing this game since Windows 98.
I did have a few crashing issues on Windows 7 but the HD mod fixed those plus I could not get the game to run on Linux using Wine but that was to be expected.
It sounds like some kind of instability bug if you ask me. Plus unsupported operating system like I mentioned earlier.

Are there any BUG fixes or patches for HOMMC3 by any chance then?

There are patches for the game but I am fairly certain that those came with the complete edition as well. Ofcourse it depends. Do you own a physical copy or the GOG version? Because the GOG version has an extra patch which might improve compatibility.

Good old Games. They offer retro videogames patched so they work with modern operating systems. Here is a link: https://www.gog.com/game/heroes_of_might_and_magic_3_complete_edition

There is a small price attached though

More like. You need to buy the game on GOG to get the patch.(I would share it here but I am afraid that I would be violating some forum rules)
