New World Order
Ah, NWO. The internet is basically riddled with conspiracy theories, ranging from semi-believable to completely ridiculous, but this one - well, this one is special, because it doesn't follow any national agenda. Quite the contrary - unlike the typical "Jews blew up WTC" stuff, this "theory" aims to prove that there is a greater "evil" behind what's wrong with humanity, going on for generations, an evil race of overlords ruling the earth with invisible hand. Some of such stories (like the pantheon of Scientology) actually make quite a buck for their creators, but this one is self-spreading and nonprofit.
Despite what many consipracy theorists believe, it doesn't take superhuman intelligence to "see through the bull for the masses", to blow the cover out of the truth and see the reality as it really is - filled with NWO agents, aliens and flying saucers. There are opinions that it's quite the opposite. Myself, not being a sociologist myself, I cannot state whether this is likely to be true or not, but there does seem to be a connection between intelligence deficit and susceptibility to BS.
However, my purpose isn't to stigmatize NWO believers, or offend them. I intend instead to focus on NWO itself and discuss how overblown, how ridiculous the notion of NWO is by itself, and how it completely cannot hold on its own as a theory of any kind, unless we involve paranormal in. So, if you believe NWO are aliens, grunts of the evil mastermind Xenu or the long-lost population of the sunken continent called Atlantis - you won't find me denying that this might just be a possibility. In fact, I'm more inclined to agree that NWO indeed are aliens than to agree that NWO are zionist league of shadows composed of ordinary men.
So, what makes the NWO notion ridiculous and illogical? Their origin. It's easy to say that in current world of technology it's possible to invigilate and control, but NWO is said to originate from "ancient times", almost. Or, at least from 2-3 centuries ago.
Okay, so let's go back in time. It's 1200. A group of wealthy bankers, priests and landlords knows some dirty secrets of the Pope, the German Emperor and a couple other personas in charge. So, what do they do? Form NWO and control the world from there, ever increasing in range and potency of their power?
Well, of course not. They start bickering, trying to get as much for each of them, they start plotting and assassinating each other, and they eventually all die. Not all of them have children, and not all of their offspring is intelectually capable of continuing any sort of politics, especially not by invisible hand. NWO dies before it even begun.
But whatever, let's say that they magically train loyal adepts to continue their mission, and those adepts are somehow devoid of typically human traits like individualism, laziness, lack of intelligence and ego issues. Somehow, this one magical group manages to overcome what destroyed empires and ended whole civilizations: stupidity, betrayal or even misfortune. And they do so for countless generations, and none of the leaders in their "control" ever shows them the middle finger because they control the League of Shadows and can assassinate them in the middle of their own palace at their slightest whim. And let's say that during all those millenia, there is never a slightest leak of what they are doing, nobody sees them and nobody ever hears of them. No ruler EVER disobeys them and tries to get rid of whatever external influence that endangers his rule... and let's say... no. Wait. Let's not say any of that, because at this point it's clear that all of this is a huge crock of crap. It's literally completely impossible to create and MAINTAIN any sort of power like that when you're faced with human nature. You don't need any virtual examples, all you need is history of any sort of empire over the ages. Deception, mania, psychosis, mental illnesses - NWO, or whatever precedeed NWO, could not possibly avoid what is a product of our genetics. They would have to be superhuman, and like I said earlier - I'm not going there.
So, let's scrap the 1200, it's not going to work. Let's jump to 1780. Adam Weishaupt the illuminati creates NWO right there, right? well... umm.. I can't see any reason why they would succeed in 1780 when they couldn't succeed in 1200. Not to mention that 1780 is pretty "late" for creation of an international web of spies and connections, because... there are empires already that control most of the world. How do you go from secret meetings in church's backyard to controlling the Empire of United Kingdom, exactly? You employ Ras Al'Ghul, or what?
Okay. 1492. Columbus discovers America. Zionists (that somewhat were scattered until 1492, but somewhat managed to come together in their plan to create the United States) send each other an invitation on facebook to create an everlasting empire of evil, the United States... nah, still makes no sense at all. Without satelites, internet and all the modern sorcery, you just can't attempt to globally control anything. You can't simultanously plan moves for America and Europe because it takes weeks for information to actually reach its destination, and you'd need to have a small band of League of Shadows assassins pretty much in every city, armed with mobile phones that weren't even discovered yet to organize and enforce your rulership all over the world. Globalization is simply not possible, and without globalization, without internet, without telephone, without satellites... you can't do squat. Simple as that. Oh, and genetics didn't become any better, too...
Okay. 1939. Zionist fund Hitler to create a new perfect Europe... umm... so where did those Zionist come from, again? We've already established that they couldn't create anything globally influential across the last hundred years. And now, they somehow have the power to decide the fate of leaders of modern world... how, exactly? What made it possible for them to make that leap to power if it wasn't physically possible for the last 1000 years?
Future years bring the long-awaited technology to maintain a global empire of influences, but there's no influences to maintain because they weren't established... because there was no technology. Yep, it's a circle of nonsense that makes it pretty clear that you simply can't determine when NWO could have possibly begun. They need the technology to rule the world, and they need to rule the world to utilize the technology in the first place... but both can not happen at the same time.
Ergo, NWO makes literally no sense at all.

Some of these things are really puffed-up and make no sense, yes.
But, a well-coordinated effort could still exist. I'm just going to say two words: Panama Papers. It is not that they wanted to rule the world, but they did evade the law and did so for years, no?
So, ah, there are such possibilities of such criminal organizations. They don't even have to be big ones, since you have them narco-bosses that rule over Mexico (basically), or even them US multi-millionaires, which also dictate laws (as told here).
So, in all summed up, there is no "single" NWO, but multiple "NWO", which are more on a local area than a global one. I think

Last I came upon something like this NWO was through 9/11 BS again, somebody linked something like "CIA pilot John Lear says planes didn't hit the towers!" Now, I knew it was gonna be some other overblown, pseudo-journalistic, gossip crap. But I simply googled John Lear out of curiosity, anyway. And oh boy, I wasn't expecting this much. The site made him a "CIA pilot" to increase the shock value of the headline, in fact he was "a pilot who once flew aircraft for a CIA-linked company" and together with a Milton William Cooper, a retired Navy petty officer, they started something called the dark side movement. Now, this movement has everything in it, it's like the one-in-all of conspiracy theories, the ultimate collector's edition for the burned out nut jobs:
According to dark siders, a ruthless "secret government" controls the world. Among other nefarious activities, it runs the international drug trade and has unleashed AIDS and other deadly diseases as population-reducing measures. Its ultimate goal is to turn the Earth and surrounding planets into slave-labor camps. For some time this secret government has been in contact with alien races, allowing the aliens to abduct human beings in exchange for advanced alien technology. The aliens, known as the "grays" (because of their gray skin color), do more than abduct human beings. They mutilate and eat them as well, using the body parts to rejuvenate themselves. This, I have been unable to reconcile with this, it's not so much keeping the regularity of decent acolytes/heirs that bothers me much, it's living your life for a dream that you know you'll never get to make reality in your lifetime, nor will the 'acolyte' that you're training nor his acolyte for generations and generations down the line, a dream centuries in the making. So...what exactly is the point, one cannot really argue such a theory without uncovering a well reasoned motive, which is what all theories should be focused on imho.

Doom, there already is a NWO and it is in economics man. I can't link nations, I'm sure many here might get close if they would bother but in the U.S. "we the people" have been completely overthrown by International Mega Companies that run the show and this is not new, it's been moving that way for decades. Some Americans are now waking-up to the BS but it is hard to do when the propaganda is actually far better than it ever was in Nazi regimes.
When I was young I was taught that Collusion, Monopoly, Conflict of Interest, Insider-Trading, etc were all illegal and the history of their eradications. Now? All of that has been wiped away and what we get is "mis-direction" and other clever-media-driven-crap, even stuff that refutes the refutes to fog the WEB scene. Think about that last one. Why do that?
We used to have reliable news in this nation now almost everyone who has any sense knows national news everywhere is "owned". So, that leaves the internet where nothing shared is controlled, if anything it is often blended for confusion or downright hoax.
I'll give one example. Bill and Al were strongly suspected of being involved with the Chinese and selling/giving away some of our guided missile-technology. I remember this snowe because when this story first surfaced my friends and I wanted to follow it but instead after a few days only, it disappeared. Now that was TREASON of capitol-hill order but...instead...everything in the news and I mean THEE STORY of that day became Monica Lewd. This is an oldie but goodie case of "misdirection". Satisfy the Zombies lust for the rude, crude and lewd and they are quite entertained.

I'm missing the point of this thread (you suddenly got bored, Doom?) but in general my standing about the NWO stuff is that its mainstream version with the Illuminati and their likes is nothing but phantasmagoria but if you go as far as to pretend that governments aren't influenced by certain private power groups, you're just as deluded as the typical conspiracy "theorists" who see grand plots of dark masterminds everywhere.

Of course, they are influenced but
a) Most of the time, the influence is partly out in the open and it's not some Byzantinesque plot or whatever they imagine it would be like. It's powerful but still actual people negotiating casual things, not some sinister master plan to seek absolute world domination International politics is dirty play but it's not the Sith. Think of any social interaction, even in the scale of your own experiences. There are sometimes hidden motives, there are people with more influence and people who are less popular, some of the likeable people can be jerks sometimes and almost everybody has their selfish side, which they mostly rationalize as the greater good etc. But there aren't evil masterminds spending day and night to control every single thing.
b) Including myself, we all use the chessboard metaphor sometimes but in fact, the nature of all this interaction is never in the manner of a flawless chess play in which the players calculate every little move and things go accordingly. Unlike what conspiracy theorists make it sound like, historical progress is mostly a very chaotic, unpredictable thing with zillions of factors constantly molding one another. It doesn't sorely consist of a few power houses determining every political tendency of the rest.

I don't claim otherwise. As much as manipulating the whole world to accomplish some centuries old plan for... nobody really knows what, is essentially impossible and preposterous, conspiracy-like trends and events with (far) more limited scope are happening all the time. Faking scientific data for marketing reasons, twisting recent and even historical events for political purposes, hiding dangerous information from the public, corrupting officials to get away with something which the society will otherwise condemn harshly, there are really a myriad of examples. None of them have the ultimate goal to create a 1984 world where a group of "inner circle" characters control the brainwashed masses for long years of misery and stagnation but they always have the interests of some minority placed on top and even against the interests of the majority.

Conspiracy theories aren't about politics or world events. They're about managing stress and depression.
Conspiracy theories are an (unhealthy) outlet for making the world feel more exciting. Even though the theories are very negative and threatening in nature, it will cause a release of dopamine when you get tangential over them.
You don't have to be uneducated to believe in them, but it helps.

The more I see, that is absolutely nutz about what's happening in the Western nations today, the more I think there IS a concerted effort coming from behind the thrones to "remake all Western Nations" going on behind the scenes and it is NOT in the best interest of the West or its people. Maybe Multi-National Corporations? IDK but some power is at work.
For years, as the illegals poured into the U.S. and no President lifted a finger (even if only for control of disease), I kept thinking wth? This nation was built on immigrants that worked and prospered and wanted to be American but now we have far too many here that park their butts, demand everything and care not about integrating, being American or anything like - it's all about the freebies with too many or it's about earning money to send home.
No country seems to have good/dedicated leadership including the U.S. Everywhere there seems a growing disconnect (if not already broken) between voters (taxpayers) and what National-leaders DO or get-away-with.
Democracy has been trashed. All major Media outlets were purchased and now they mislead the citizens of many, if not all Western nations.

We've already reached the closest thing to a new world order I believe... economic domination. Keep some countries poor and dominate them by hiring them 1 dolla per hour. It's a way smarter way to dominate than actual domination dictator style. Dominating the whole world that way is a hassle that is bound to provoke rebellion. Best make the people believe they are free.

I agree. Most Americans (me too at first) did not even realize we were in a economic war on old America until the war was over.
However, I think there is even more to lose and it's happening now.
