Unique heroes VS Generic heroes

This is a matter I've considered for myself for a while now. The hero is probably the single most important mechanic in any of the heroes games (not that the others are not important). However what if instead of having all or most heroes take on a standard appearances, not counting campaign heroes and the like, every hero was uniquely designed?

Allow me to explain further. It would mostly be a visual and aesthetic thing with minimal inpact on gameplay, except for a case of heroes fighting on the battlfield like in H4 where it would vary if the hero was ranged or melee. However it would allow for a greater character design of those heroes at the cost more effort put into the visual production. logically this would likely also mean a less total of heroes, like a total of 9 instead of a total of 18.

Do you really feel Ubi should dedicate a bigger fraction of Heroes buget to "visual and aesthetic things"?

I'd like a hero editor TBH, but I'm good with the amount of variety there is now. As long as the damned boobplates goes to die in a fire that is.

Ubi can't even stick with creating creatures that aren't a copy of another.

I don't think they need to make every single hero unique, but they could at least have the courtesy of making the unique models actually line up with the character. For example, that Orna hero introduced in Heroes VI and reappears in VII? If she looks like an H6 Celestial, why is her hero model that of an H7 Celestial? Ubisoft had little compunctions with recycling units and animations from other units, so why didn't they do so when it was actually appropriate? Fools.

While I think giving every hero a unique desing would be a bit overkill I'd like if they at least gave it a bit more variety.

Like what if every faction had 4 models(2 for male,2 for female)?
This could be especially useful for making heroes of other species, since it always bugged me how we've got almost only humans for heroes, especially in factions where humans should be rather rare(like sanctuary from VI,where appearantly every human that has something to do with them is a leader of some sort).

New heroes could have randomized and/or personalized appeareances from an ingame "Hero editor" feature.

Battle For the Middle Earth 2 is a game that had it, see for example:

With like three or four objects for each option you could have near infinite appearances, and it would not be that hard.

However, it is true what people say that Ubisoft cares much about graphics and not enough about gameplay.
