Thanks! 1.2 v. has been released! Enjoy!

Incoming editions ahead, 'till the Second Chapter, "The Rise of Morgoth" (during the next summer I hope!).

Is the Stronghold player, which is the only one without a team, not supposed to be played by human? I can play it but just wanted to make sure of your intention. The other reason I'm asking is that with "Impossible" difficulty, the guarding neutrals seem really really strong, which is making the early game a real btch

By the way, there, in the Demon hero's area, there is a Magic Well that's floating in the air and is not accessible. Also, one can collect almost all the resources inside the walls (behind the starting position), idk if that was intended. Further, there seems to be some passability issues in the surrounding terrain. I mean there are a lot of empty fields where you can't walk/pass, idk if intended...

Nice map layout though

Definitely you're allowed to take over Stronghold. Regarding my intention, I don't know... ummm, becoming a tough guy? In the next chapter, the "bad ones" will be the strongest. Everyone who has read the Silmarillion knows why

Noted. I've never played in "impossible" though... hehe.

I'll take a look. Have you played under 1.2 v. or prior?

Yeah the "Impossible" difficulty might prove literal, lol

I'm playing the 1.2 version...

PS: Years ago I had started reading the Silmarillion, but never got to finish it... I sure love Tolkien lore though

v 1.2

Beautiful map.  really nice use of texture terrain and objects.

however, some accessibility issues early on:

the crystal mine and fairy grove in the first surface area are not accessible at all.

Using the editor, it turned out they were just a bit too far into the background terrain. they have to have at least the front and one side completely clear.

I moved the mine one space away from the tree, leveled the terrain underneath, and did the same with the fairy dwelling, which made them both accessible.

So far still clearing the 1st underground and surface areas, so will be a long time before I can fully check out the whole map.

I think you probably should considering leveling the terrain under ALL your interactive objects, and make sure that if you placed them next to a wall or trees or whatever, that they are fully clear along the front and at least one side (meaning if you turn AI accessibility on, there are no yellow areas along the front and at least one side... must be completely clear).

the terrain is nicely rugged, but it creates odd little places where things that should be accessible actually aren't.  unfortunately, even the "AI accessibility" switch in the editor won't always identify problem areas I have noted.  If in doubt, move it away from any potential obstructions by a space.

also, running this map through the new mapmixer utility worked a treat for the water areas.  made them much more interesting.

Answered at my blog! I'll take look but firstly I ask you to appoint us the exact areas you're pointed out, so I can fix them (the coordinates, you know).

Your feedback is really appreaciated!
