I don’t really know what is inside of the regular box, but that one had a manual and list of all creatures with all characteristics plus city’s development.

The regular box I bought also came with a manual (about 130 pages) and a creature sheet/town sheet.
The main difference is the elite version comes with a membership to the 3D0 guild, where the normal version only comes with a ticket costing you $10 to join it.
The point of the guild is if you pay them $10 supposively they will listen to what you have to say about the game.
Also, 3D0 is not including the same contents in the regular box in all regions over the world. Certain places do not get instructions with their game while other areas do (such as the US).

...well, it's too late for me now, but is the elite edition availiable for public purchase out in stores? ...because not only did the stupid stores around here the game later than everyone else, but I didn't find the elite edition, which I wanted. I'm not going to return it now, but I was just curious if they could only be ordered online or something?

I am not sure, because the salesman was trying to shove a strategy guide down my throat while I was trying my best to convince him it's unlikely I will need it.

I purchased the elite edition directly from 3do. No retail stores in my area even had the original box yet. The elite came with a HeroesIV T-shirt that is pretty cool and all that was already mentioned in other posts.

How big is the elite box? Does it use the new standard small boxes? And if you saw it not small, is the regular edition small? My regular edition is the crappy small box the price paid is the same as the big boxes! Down with small boxes!!

My box is the regular size box for software. I haven't seen any of the original or elite boxes in any of the retail stores where I live yet so I am not sure what size they will be. The elite box is a silver gray in color.

HAHA..
Of all game t-shirts I've gotten, I've never dared to wear any of them in public.. I always leave them folded up in the box. It's just dorky.

Yes, as a matter of fact I did wear it in public! I liked it so I wore it. My sister and I both thought it was a cool T and she would like to have one. So I guess we are both a little different. We both have been known to be a little strange at times. LOL! It doesn't pay to worry too much about what others think anyway.

Thats a bunch of crude, making us pay anything for them to hear us out is crap.
There should of been no complaints & musta knew there would be some questions knowing how different the game is.
They should hear us out without paying but I guess that wont happen.
I mean why do we have to pay to ask anything it's stupid.

I got the free one year membership to the Guild (along with my groovy T-shirt LOL!) and currently it doesn't look like you can do much at all. I downloaded a map in the Goods section but that is all that was there. They have a link to edit your account and one to log out. There is a little newsletter welcoming you to the place and telling you some of the potential member benefits that you will be able to enjoy. I think it might still be a work in progress.

I didn't get a T-Shirt in mine  Canadians always get jipped. heh. But i did get a tactical map ...
OOOO ahhhhhhh... its just a nice piece of paper about the same size as the big creature card we all get, and one map i think its call. A land without a king. and it just puts everything on the map so i can plan my strategies a little bit better. For that map only though. Did any other canadians get a different tactical map? that'd be cool to have 'em all...
