editing altar of transformation script

Hi guys,

Could somebody help me edit altar of transformation script as i am trying to make the game more challenging and i've edited most of the stuff i wanted but i don't quite understand this script.

I want to make it cost 5x as much mana to get to 100% so if i want to get 100% i will need to pay 500 mana so i guess 5 mana = 1% chance.
I want to make it harder to combine multiple populations which this altar allows but still have it in the game as i really like this idea and its needed to defeat conquistador's massive armies when not abusing AI stupidity to the maximum

If you could leave an explanation as to how i can do it myself i would be really grateful as in the future i might decide on an ever harder value as this is just an estimation as to how hard it needs to be to not make it too easy too fast.

Regards,
Rosen
