Apathy
Is the correct word. We have an election coming up here.. almost everybody I've spoken to, when asked "who will you vote for?" answers "I can't be bothered". As far as I am concerned, apathy towards major decisions in your country cannot be a good thing- historically, it has proved to be a very bad thing.

In my opinion LePen is better than Chirac, a lot.
because of the immigration, there are already neighborhoods in france that the police is afraid to enter.
If it's not stopped, europe will face a demographic disaster and euoropeans will no longer be a majority, and then the days of democracy and technology will be over.

There is something to be said for the devil you know over the devil you don't.
Anyway... Chirac is a conservative, but La Pen is a facist. Let me tell you about facists:-
Facists go against all the things which make humanity good. The are not only anti sematic but are violent, believe 'might is right', are anti trade unions or decent wages. The believe in your right to work only if you will conform exactly to their ideals. If you are not of their race, they treat you like dirt. They refuse to engage in internationalist conferences. They do not believe in state care, benefits or special needs teaching. They believe in negative freedom (freedom to starve) and would happily deprive all those too poor to pay from private education of this nescessary knowledge. They would make changes to the economic system just to further their own wealth. Women's issues are unknown to them. Worst case scenario, they will kill.
If this is better than Chirac, I would like to know why.

chirac denies there is anti semitism in france, while actualyl, there is a lot of it there, and he does nothing against it.
chirac simply HATES israel while supporting arabs.
while LePen hates both equally.

Norway is the closest country I can think of devoid of racism. Of course they have almost 0 immigration and the highest standard of living with minimal work due to the north sea oil of any country on earth, but... who really needs excuses to hate someone else?

Well, Hastings in particular has a lot of imigrants...
At first there was a lot of racism... but now they are "Our Kosovans". The some national front guys were quite badly beaten when they tried to attack some immigrants a while back.

Haha! You think Norway is devoid of racism? And here I was, paying so close respect to every letter in your post, and now this?
Norway has a very hard time rooting out the neo nazi's, partly because of the "everyday" racism deeply rooted within most norwegians. We like to think we're the best, "Det er typisk norsk å være god", and while we need immigration workers, we are no good at integrating them into the norwegian society, and as a consequence, many do not fit in socially, and then they seek their own, and since they are also kept from the good jobs (we have several e.g. indian physicians working as street sweepers).
I think some of the problem is the "normal" politicians not admitting that there are severe problems in connection with third world immigrants out of fear of being labeled a racist/nazi (we still carry a grudge towards the germans), and so the far righters with their simplistic and populistic approach gather votes, cause "at least they're doing *something*", and people fail to see beyond skin color.
Our far right party is currently the second largest in the country......
But I suppose problems of this sort is even bigger elsewhere.
And as for immigrants, we accept more refugees each year per inhabitant than most european countries.

Yeah, I'm aware of some of the racist going ons in Norway and that why I said it isn't a country devoid of racism, but the closest to it, I can't think of any country totally devoid. The fact which Norway lets in the most refugees per inhabitant in spite of the fact the far right party being 2nd largest is why I said the closest to being devoid. The skinheads in Norway are the most relaxed skinheads I ever met.
Refugees don't get permanent citizenship straight away in most cases, and being able to claim refugee status means they aren't tabulated along with the normal immigration statistics.
There are racist groups and plans to eliminate the disliked groups in every country I can think of, but Norway has arguments even within it's rightist movements about how far is too far etc- can't think of any other country with that situation.

Is all I have to say regarding La Pen.. it is a sensible opinion.
La Pen wishes to take France out of the EU, for instance. This is not the opinion of a sane man. I am proud to be a European. More than anything I want the Euro.. I am startin to get really jealous of people who have it already. I don't think there is any alternative to being pro-Europe. I thought, when I was a child, that by the year 2000 we wouldn't be different nationalities at all.. we'd just be 'earthlings'. Nationalism is backward. That is all.

Most of Arabs DO have their states 
And what if we look from Israeli's side? If you are born and live somewhere and somebody cries that this is his land and wants you out of there what would you do?
I mean if I was Israeli I would do exactly what Israelis do now - they only try to protect themselves. We saw that they gave the Palestinians huge authonomy in previous years, but terrorist attacks never stopped. The Intifade never stopped. Simply the Palestinians are not the type of people you would deal with - they are fanatics.
On the other hand - how many people stood against killing Afgans few months ago? The situation was similar.

I’m french.
Like Cat said : Le Pen wishes to take France out of the EU. It means less exchanges (economical, touristic...etc) and the return of the franc instead of the Euro.
That means : economical disaster for France !!!
Le Pen and the extreme right are not only dangerous for foreign people living in France. They would put France into a major social crisis. If he were president (he would never, be reassured) it would be a civil war in France.
