WoG AI setting in launcher?

There's a switch for using SoD AI in the WoG launcher. Should I click it or not? What are the differences between SoD and WoG AI? I remember reading about it but searching the forum gave nothing.

We had an issue with AI heroes just moving back and forth, so we cliocked the SoD AI button in WoG settings (in the launcher, not ingame) and it seems to have helped.

I think you're are talking about AI thinking radius. In sod thinking radiu is smaller, that's why AI turns are much shorter in late game.

Actually is the opposite, I quote the erm help:

Control AI "thinking" radius
$ = 32000 is a SoD default
  = 4096 is a current WoG default
This is not a number of squares to analyze, but is the total range of an AI hero based on its movement points and the terrain. For grass, one square of distance is about 100 points. This is not saved in the saved game.
You can change this value at any moment, for example, making one AI player or even a specific hero more clever than another.
Caution: if this value is set too low, an AI hero may just sit there and not move at all.

That was changed for Era, is now back to SoD parameters.

So we should click the SoD switch in the WoG mod in the mod manager, for the best possible AI?
Can the value be increased for the AI to take more options into consideration?

I've been wondering how to change the AI behaviour regarding some easily abused AI flaws. Can the value be increased for the AI to take more options into consideration? How? And does type of AI (warrior, explorer, builder) have any effect?

No, I don't think so, except if you have tons of free time and willing to spend months in testing every value. But you can script AI to do specific strategies or moves using erm codes.
