1.6 is here! Long awaited combo dots sets finally here! Cooldowns for shield, cooldowns after leaving guilds, updated log in dungeons, more free diamonds, and much more!

Let's see..
- Combo sets are so expensive that I don't see myself using those anytime soon.
- Extra diamonds from ads are nice, though there does seem to be a very limited number of ads available in my country.

And as for showing the castle level in dungeons? Welp, I guess I'll have to get used to being the punching bag of the cup for who knows how long.

Because judging by the first day, that change is going to be harsh for newer players. I did just fine on previous rounds because I wasn't so easy to spot, but now I'm getting absolutely hammered with attacks. "Hey look, there's a newbie in Gold who doesn't even have shrines yet? Easy pickings." ...ouch, no more dungeon progression rewards for me.

Other than those? Nice update, especially like the increased creature storage.

Well, the updates are nice, except that cooldowns for shields are not exactly the right way to fix.

The kingdom + boosting increases your teams' powers, but do not guarantee 100% winning (others can go boosting as well).

The wood nymph is a very powerful defensive unit, but she is assessible to everyone.
(Anyway, her introduction actually has helped me quite a lot. My attack win rate is down from about 83% to 78%, but my defense win rate goes from a shambolic 8% to 25%.)

Well, for the shield, with it on you surely lose nothing.
After you robbed prestige from someone, he cannot hurt you back even if they successfully revenged on you.
If you got attacked by others, then it is very good news.
They win, you lose no prestige, and you get the chance to revenge on them with no worries of retaliation.
They lose, you gain prestige without costing an orb.

If this weird mechanism of the shield remains, it will stay as the strongest evidence of P2W accusations.

A day you get 40 diamonds if you watch ads, another 10 for daily missions, and another 40 if you're in active guild, so that's almost 100 diamonds a day for only logging in and spend maybe 10 mns on the game. You can afford shield. The P2W mechanic was with the unlimited buys (w/o cooldowns), now if you purchase the 24h shield, you have to wait another 24h before being able to buy it again, and since attacking breaks the shield, I think it's manageable to free players now. I myself barely use the feature, only if I want to keep my rank and cannot play last hours for RL reasons, which is easy to plan ahead.

Re: Showing castle level in dungeons. This is definitely make the dungeon much harder.

My previous rank in Gold was 31, but after the update, I haven't even been able to break into top 300. Low castle level makes me into an obvious target, and I get constantly hammered with attacks whenever I gain any prestige above 2000. Couldn't keep my rank up even with 100% wins, at least not without buying tons of challenge points. Went from average 5500-6000 prestige to no longer being able to reach the 3000 prestige progression reward.

Definitely won't be getting any more legendary essences from dungeons anymore, which makes it even harder to catch up. Seems weird that I can get hundred wins, but end up getting the same reward as the players who did nothing.

Miervaldis, it could be that you were bumped up from low to high gold when placing 31.

@ScottKnight I agree that shield still has offensive advantages, especially by negating revenges. After cooldown I believe boosting is a bigger issue though. How about including a 5 or 8 hour shield as a daily mission reward?

I use the shield if I want to keep my rankings in the final hours as well. A question: is the cooldown limited to which shield you have bought, or the cooldown covers all kinds of shields?

Anyway, I'm not complaining about the shield being payers-only, since it's not, I'm questioning the features of it.
IMO if no prestige is lost, no revenge chance should be granted. If you steal prestige from someone, the shield should not protect you from losing prestige of being revenged.

I don't think it is necessary, since Galaad has pointed out the shield is quite assessisble to everyone, plus that I think it would be quite problematic to implement.

Thanks for the information. There is at least some sense in it.

I think you can buy the 5h shield when there is no cooldown and the challenge is not over yet. The system will remind you that the shield will only run until the challenge is over.
I have bought a couple of 5h shields, all below 5h, shortest one being 1.5h only.

The problem with this is the mental impact when some people get targeted every 2 hours, which usually happens when you have huge prestige, so they wake up, they see the same player slaughtered them multiple times, they want to revenge. It has actually been the subject of quite heated discussions in discord in the past. I had the same opinion as you but some players made me realize that in such case they won't get back as much prestige as the former attacker so it might even out. The consensus was to wait and see how things mitigate with cooldowns.

Yep the attacking every 2hrs thing is very very annoying and needs to be do away with. It mostly benefits the whales a lot which is why whales argue for it and of course devs listen to whales since they pay the big bucks. I liken it to being bullied in this game. I participated in those heated discussions, which is why I don’t post there anymore, since I don’t need that stress in my life

Finally got around to trying the combo sets.
...turns out that there's a gold cost, in addition to the initial 150 diamonds?

I was going to use the second set for my tower team, but with 100,000 gold per switch, that's not feasible. Would've been cheaper to just train up an another creature (since I've got plenty of extra gems).

Yes, there is NO way I will switch combo dots if you have to pay massive gold every time you switch.

As far as I am concerned they are like an alternate armor/equipment set.

Once you've bought the equipment just what is happening to it?

I mean is the Gold used to Create it so low quality that it falls off everytime you need to use it?

Or maybe the Creature that is Coated with it is always swimming in acid?

It makes much more sense to just have multiple versions of the creature, even with Legendaries.

Make them freely switchable.

Maybe only one alternate set for balance reasons,
or each successive new set have a exponentially higher diamond cost.

Now they are just a Whack A Mole "Hit Me Again" Non-Feature.
