Vanilla, Trial by Fire, or Complete Edition
Hello,
I tried the 1.8 version of the game. But it as many bugs. So I want to try UCP mod. And as I said in another topic, I am looking at improving AI.
But it is only for the 2.2 version. So I am going to buy this game, but I don't know which version I should buy.
As I understand, there are 3 versions currently available at those prices:

I am interested in dwarves.
I am not interested in campaign. I am only looking for hot seat skirmish. But I have read that Trial by fire lacks of some skirmish maps. Is it true?
If yes, as I want dwarves and skirmish maps, I should buy the complete edition. But it is twice as expensive, so I prefer to ask for advice before.

I bought Trial by Fire, and I'm glad to have all skirmish maps, and all heroes.
So complete edition is only for campaign.

Update/ Upgrade on the Uplay game client caused sudden unwanted problems.
Two years ago I had to, by mistake, create a new account in order to install the game client Uplay. By unknown accident, I could find a way at logging in with the old account and use my three(3) only games that I get to play through Uplay(HoMM6: Shades of Darkness, HoMM7: Deluxe Edition and, Monopoly Plus). But, never could get HoMM6: Standard Edition due to being installed on a much older PC.
With the newest and latest update/upgrade of the game client of Uplay, only been able to log into that newest account of mine and, also, change its password to its year 2020 status.
Had to literally uninstall everything I had from Uplay and, re-buy the three(3) of them in one single transaction of a purchase. But, this time, I did the right thing about getting the proper Editions for this year: Complete Edition for both MMH6 and MMH7. Monopoly Plus remains at Standard status of a full game.
Tried MMH7 right after download and auto. install of it and, works really great. Noticed though, that the expansion is, still, considered a DLC add-on to the overall game with a twist: Intro. movie plays for the add-on expansion just as if it is, still, act as a stand-alone game of MMH7. In the old Deluxe Edition, there never was an intro. movie for the add-on DLC. That was, quite, a pleasant surprise. Used the RMG of the Add-on DLC and lost to the computer player without any unfair glitches nor cheats of any kind. Darkstorm is quite a strong Dark Elf Hero(Minotaur King) even though he was only at level 10 when he defeated mine at level 6. The Deluxe Edition was not available through Uplay, only the newest of Complete Edition.
Do hope I can play the vanilla version of MMH6 before delving back into the Stand-Alone Expansion of Shades of Darkness. Hope my old keys for the 2 other DLCs can work gradually as I progress through the old lore of MMH6.
The Monopoly Plus is to be replayed countless times to get my medals all over again. I also own this game on the Xbox 360 game console. Guess that I kinda like this electronic based board game, right?
Only 120$ taxes included for the three(3) of them, good deal.
