My worst fear was darkness. When I went throught the dark room or hallway, I couldn`t help myself but run to the light, it sounds stupid, but i felt ghostes chasing me in darkness

I used to think that monsters lived under my bed and since my bed was in the middle of my room, the monsters would come out from the bed on the other side of the door.
So I'd go to the edge of my bed, turned on my right side facing the door. I'd get so close to the side that I'd fall asleep and fall off my bed. Never for the hell of me would I sleep on the right side of my bed. I was terrified.
And when my dad would go pick up my mom late at night from work, I couldn't stay in the house by myself... I'd actually go outside! Then I'd see my dad drive back and go back inside. All that until the day I actually told my mom and my dad never left the house again. My mom took the cab. Imagine a kid on his poarch at 10:30 at night outside during the winter, just standing there waiting.
It's sad when I think of it, but this is actually the first time I talk about it since it happened.

I've also been afraid of the dark. I would always imagine pairs of glowing eyes appearing as I'd walk in the dark. I'd also imagine other things appearing, like ghastly visages and skeletal faces with wicked grinning teeth. This is in total darkness with no light whatsoever, so you'll probably agree that those thoughts of mine were quite creepy.

you know, they say that children don't create these images themselves... That just before we fall asleep, we are in a daze and reality might seem a little different. So children start to imagine things just before they fall asleep and think it's reality.
Pretty interesting stuff! I mean, there had to be a reason why all kids a afraid a night?

oh man, i remember when i was very young, i used to go to a summer camp. during the night i had to go to washroom but i couldn't, because every time i raised my head i've seen a face staring at me, and the room was so dark. i was kinda sleepy, so the view was a bit blurry. however, next day i found out that it was a toy of a friend, lol, .

lol, was the friend doing it on purpose as a joke on you, or was it pure coincidence?

I figure its just because as kids we hadn't learnt to control our imaginations yet, and also as a child everything seems possible. Now things like that we may think fleetingly, but can easily rationalize away our fears with logical reasoning.
Of course, this doesn't apply to me - I've held on to my irrational fears even knowing how stupid they are

Pandora:
Quote: The scariest thing I have seen lately is a Levi's commercial (i think its levis...) In any case, in this ad there is a mannequin wearing some jeans, and model dude wants those jeans, so he goes and buys them. This apparantly ticks the mannequin off a great deal, so the commercial is a series of flashes wherein the mannequin is stalking the guy to get the jeans back. They don't show him moving, but you see him in the crowd etc. In the end of the spot, the guy is at home safe and sound during a rainstorm, and a flash of lightning illuminates the figure of the mannequin standing right outside his window. It freaks me out just thinking about that ad. It just terrifies me.
That reminds me of when I was a kid. When I was really young I saw several mannequins (with jeans on) in the window of a clothing store that were only the legs and waist, no top. I was so young I couldn't understand how the legs could live without the body. So that night I had nightmares about torsoless legs slowly striding into my room. I remember being scared out of my 4 year old wits.
