Yes, that was the initial intention! Another strategic element as it changes normal battle to a survival fight (the longer you stay the more powerful weather effect you get).

Thanks for this, I will investigate the buff description. The "-/+" mark is redundant if there is already "increase" in the description.

Well if your unit have immunity to light = no light buff

Thanks for your feedback, that is what we need! Chilled works same as in Heroes 6, making unit vulnerable to fire. Same goes for the other effects but you are right that some are odd. We will think about it.

WARNING: we have found (and fixed internaly) a critical bug which will crash your game every time you have upgraded Xel unit AND Bio-Titan neutral unit in your army. So avoid this until a new version is released.

light immunity should only block negative light effects tough, blessed seems to be positive so Maybe u missed a tag, if that buff is supposed to be affected by immunitys etc.


well f.e in divinity original sin, a game that is based on such elemental effects a lot, u would get fire resistance if u are frozen and would get more dmg if attacked with water, another reference, world of Warcraft ice mages and shatter Combos, if frozen some ice spells will deal multiple Damage and np, glad to help (: gotta work a lot next week, so dont exspect much more for now

Lol I forgot to remove the hardcoded light immunity that I had in the previous buff when copy/paste magic took place Now its all fine!

Yeah I know what happens when you freeze a minion in Hearthstone and then cast Shatter

Lets elaborate a bit:

1[ORG] These units cancel the effects of Atmos on the battlefield (they must not be present as opponents): Simurgh, Arcane Eagle, Valkyrie, Vampire Lord, Light Elemental, Gold Dragon, Griffin , Imperial Griffin , Shadow Panther, Air Elemental, Darkness Elemental, Firebird, Sun Deer, Moon Doe, Pixie, Sprite, Blade Master.

2[ORG] Objects for alchemy (recipes and ingredients) may only be collected by Thaumaturge. If a different hero takes them, the Thaumaturge skill script bugs and the game become stuck! Let the objects with the icon of the three vials (ingredients) and/or scroll (recipe) always be left for the Thaumaturge to collect them.

3[ORG] Combat objects made by Thaumaturge must be handed over to at least one hero in order to correctly appear in the spellbook during the fight (scrolls section).

4[ORG] Xel town does not have its own music (no music or sounds can be imported in the editor).

5[ORG] Do not switch to Windows in windowed mode or better do not play in windowed mode at all, otherwise the game will crash.

1 - this is the strangest bug I have ever seen! No way I could find a pattern between those units and my Atmos system. But we can control the type of opponents in our campaign so this is not a problem (it would be a huge NO for multiplayer skirmish maps but since scripts do not work in multi...).

2 - this one is hidden in the game code and we cannot access it. So all the crafting thingies must be collected only by Thaumaturge (who is the only one who can craft so it is also logical).

3 - same as 2 but will not bug the game, you just need to hand the crafted item over and not use it directly (by Thaumaturge).

4 - this one is the biggest failure for me! I was already preparing to contact Paul A. Romero to record a short town theme for Xel (he is incredibly friendly and positive person!) but sadly no sound can be imported (due to Wwise AudioKinetic plugin). Sad but not a game braker.

5 - this is the ONLY bug that is caused by WPU and the only workaround is not to play in windowed mode and alt-tabing to Win.

So... thats it. If you are aware of those issues it shouldnt affect your gameplay experience so much.

But to be honest I would rather have "clear/bugless" community project for the price of few more months in beta instead of several issues that cannot be fixed.

But how to achieve this when the very own foundation is already infected?

The biggest letdown seems 4, the others are mostly annoyances you'd have to work around. It's far from ideal either way.

I was giving it a thought for a moment whether I should try it out, but then I read on the official website that I'd have to buy Trial by Fire or the Complete Edition. A deal-breaker for me, however understandable.

sure About 3? ive crafted a potion and a statute on the djinn without handing any of the mats or the item to someone and it worked fine in Combat....

1 sounds very strange, why would a griffin affect atmos System, there has to be a reason for this

something else: i really like the new bless spell, u mind me using it in my mod? how did u create the Animation? Looks nice, i guess the pic is from another hereos game?

Good news for ya - for the beta you don`t need the Xpac/complete version (no dwarves yet)! So the only pain is to inslal the game again

Let me test it again in the newest version (0.1.1). It would be nice if it was fixed but I remember that after I crafted a potion and engaged a combat with the Thaumaturge - there was no potion in his spellbook.

There has to be a reason but the question is WHERE? And I am afraid it is hidden somewhere in the source code. Those units are so different that I cannot see what they have in common contrary to the others.

As long as you credit me as the creator of this wondrous spell you are free to use it!

Nah... just kidding Use it and if you want to you can also use the curse as well

PS: you can create a lot of effects in UDK Cascade editor. Or just edit those you like.

UPDATE: So I tested two potions and after crafting and attacking na enemy, none was in my spellbook. But after swapping those with another friendly hero I could see them and use them in battle normaly. So try and test this again, please.

We are also slowly approaching the "final" version of WPU packages and soon after there are no more bugs that can be fixed, we will start with the first chapter of WPU campaign!

glad u making process (-: is there new stuff to test with that patch or is is just the old map+content with the bug fixes? i have some time next days and will eventually take another look at it, anything specific what u think would need testing?


too bad we cant use any custom sounds, but i guess u've alrdy tried a lot so i wont even bother with it, i would like to do some coustom Maps one day and using some voices for hereos would have been cool

Sorry but no music/sounds. Yes it would be cool and as I said earlier we were ready to import custom town theme, unit sounds and voiceovers. But all this is impossible

Nothing new - we are just fixing old bugs.

Main Xel hero is now also starting with some buffed army and warfare unit so you can easily test neutrals in combat.

just out of cousority, why is it impossible? u mean it would be too difficult to make it work like improving AI or because of other reasons? i mean they have added sounds as well so it cant be impossible, i just would like to know why u think it is impossible

I dont think, I know it

I said it already X-times and will say it again - only the devs were able to add new sounds/music because they licensed 3rd party plugin to do all the SFX stuff.

I also asked Marzhin for help and he confirmed that all the sound magic was in devs hands.

I even tried it myself, delving into Wwise AudioKinetic plugin but all I got was silent AkEvent and empty SoundBanks.

So that is, we have to play with the cards we have in hands (sounds already in the game)

I think you will have to pay the license and moreover the plugin is focused on Unreal Engine 4 and not the old UDK, sadly.
