Yes of course it has support for all Windows version starting from Windows 98. I can confirm that on Windows 7 it runs much faster and smoother then original game.

Hi
Just reinstalled h4 gog French version with equilibris 3.51.
Try wrapper but crash and back to windows after 3 secondes. same without equilibris.
I have Gforce GTX970, windows 10 1809, no scalling.
Any idea?
EDIT:
Same with UK version
EDIT 2 : Verok give me the solution, if someone have same probleme, check this

Wow. I ran HoMM4 today and it was completely unplayable, choppy, menus barely opened. Full screen was a black screen or something so wide and buggy I had to close it with task manager.
I Googled around, everyone was clueless, suggesting resolution changes, some dwx software to kinda-sorta-maybe alleviate it a bit.
And then I found this thing. And it took all the problems away. I am in awe. Thanks, friend!

Excellent patch! I just installed H4 on win10 for the first time, it stuttered weirdly, but it's all fixed thanks to this.
(Posting partly just to bump the thread, because it deserves to be seen, at least by the bots.)

Hello,
I just installed the GL wrapper to HOMM4 from GOG. Unfortunately, the top panel menu isn't available which means I cannot use alternative resolutions. I am running HOMM4 and the wrapper with Wine on Fedora Linux.
Could this be the reason that the wapper menu is not showing up for me? And if so, is there a known fix?

Same here on Linux Mint Cinnamon 22.2. I managed to get it once through a fluke to work through PortProton, never again. Once more under Bazzite with Lutris and that's it. Wine doesn't work either. It seems like the wrapper is not "recognized" at all.
In comparison, HoMM3 with the HD mod works perfectly well on Linux.

You need to add DDRAW.dll as a native library for HoMM4 in the Wine config. Since DDRAW.dll is a system library, Wine overrides it with its own. You explicitly need to tell it to not do that.
1. Open winecfg
2. Go to the Applications tab and add heroes4.exe
3. Select it from the list
4. Go to the Libraries tab
5. Add DDRAW.dll as a native library (instead of built-in)
