Windows 10 64 bit lags on Heroes 4 maps and combat

Whenever I start any map of the game, the game has an intense lag which makes it unplayable.

I have Windows 10 64 bit Enterprise edition and AMD Ryzen 5 2400G with Radeon Vega Graphics.

When I play Heroes 3, Heroes 5 or any other game, I don't have that problem, so it seems to be a matter of unique coding on Heroes 4.

Is there any way to make Heroes 4 maps playable without the unusual lag, without compromising the graphics quality?.

Things I've tried :

1.) running the program in any compatibility mode ;

2.) tried different affinities ;

3.) setting up a higher priority for the game ;

4.) high DPI scaling ;

5.) I've tried the GL Wrapper, but the problem is that it reduces the graphics quality of the game. Plus it also has other glitches, like a temporary black screen when the hero moves on the map.

6.) reduced color mode : both 8 bits and 16 bits.

For NVIDIA: Control Panel - Nvidia - Adjust desktop size - Select the "No scaling" and "Display" change to "GPU"
For RADEON: Control Panel - Catalyst Control - My digital flat panels - "Maintain aspect ratio" or, "Use centered timings"
Also suggest, so that during the "combat" did not stop: Run the game, open "Task manager" - Find process heroes4.exe - Right click - Set affinity - Select only "CPU 0". OR: Game icon on desktop - Right click - Properties - in the "Target path" add to the begining: cmd.exe /C start "Heroes4" /affinity 1

... I'd rename that to "Windows 10 64 bits lags on Heroes 4 map"

Sorry could not resist.

Radeon here. Changing the "My digital flat panels" settings in Catalyst Control is not an option, because it can damage the processor. It's even mentioned there.

It seems that lag // stutters started with AMD driver version 17.12.1, so I've tried installing older versions of it and it either didn't have any effect or it couldn't recognize the drivers and failed to install.

I've solved the problem by uninstalling the AMD graphics driver (it's named AMD software), but it's a temporary solution since there are scaling problems when starting a full screen game (the desktop gets giant before entering the game)and the obvious bugs that exist when the graphics drivers are not installed. While it doesn't affect the installed games, there are graphic glitches in other areas.

Windows 10 creators update seems to be another cause of this, since a lot of persons confirmed that (through on other games). On the previous version of windows 10 (april 10 update), I could play Heroes 4 without any lags when choosing the reduced color mode 16 bits option, but to do so now I would have to reinstall windows. I'm sure the 16 bits color option reduces some of the image // animation quality, but it's the best option so far.

Does anyone know a solution for this?. Maybe someone can create a dll that would specifically solve the game lag // stuttering problem of Heroes 4 on the maps and combat, without any serious side effects (like reducing the graphics quality, like additional maneuvers when the game is launched, and like using overclock options (this one should be more avoided, because it can damage the processor)).

Also, is this problem only on AMD hardware?. Or do the newer Intel processors have the same issue?.

check dxwnd program, it solved lag issue for me, and not only in h4, but some other older games like warlords battlecry 3. it should be ok with default options.

It is better to use GL Wrapper instead.
