Equilibris New Ideas

Hi guys,

Here are some of my ideas for updating Equilibris mod. They are based on my own experience from many games that I played online. I would be pleased if a mod with these small changes was ever released.

Order:
Replacing Pain Mirror with Mass Forgetfulness
Evil Sorcerers no Mass Cancellation

Preserve:
Replacing Waspworts with Gargantuants in Creature Portal
BeastMaster +20% to summoning (in fight)
BeastLord Summoning Skill +15%

Life:
Dark Priest Gain Cancellation Spell
Catapults Increased move and attack (+25%)


Death:
Dark Champions reducing mana to 1 spell of Terror
Mass Cancellation with 33% chance to dispel Sanctuary


Chaos:
Chain Lightning replaced with Inferno with increased bonus
Hydras Increased move and +20% magic resistance
Witch King Gain Fire Bolt Spell and +10% to all Fire Spells

MAke your own m,od, its what i did :V

Replacing waspworts seems not to be possible or we don't know how yet. Even if you replace it, waspworts still appears as default option on creature portal.

I am a player not a modder

Of course simultaneous turns would be the greatest change but this seems to be also impossible.

EDIT: BTW you can do other changes except waspworts?

I think that these are just fine and should be done as soon as possible.

My additional suggestions are

Chaos:
Hydra is to have the teleport ability (easier to do than terrain walk).
Minotaurs to have a less random ability like mind immune or something else.
To have a new spell, buff that gives fire resistance.

Nature:
Waspworts to gain more movement (sadly nothing else can balance the map movement they need for competitive play).

Order:
Replace Pain Mirror yes, but not sure if Mass Forgetfulness is the right choice, will have to further figure this one out.

Life:
Balista to have a bit more movement.

Death:
Imps to also get immune to visual ability.
Ice demons can also get teleport.

Might:
Maybe for Berserkers to get charge instead of berserk ability.

Well Hydras are actually quite good creature you know? You can buff them with many spells. IMHO they need just a slight enhancement to be competitive with Black Dragons.

A very basic one ... I can replace abilities of creatures and I am currently trying to properly add some.

If you guys at the tournament want to have abilities replaced or removed, I can help you with that ... but adding them is still a challenge for me because it can introduce bugs the way I am trying to do it.

Ok, so what do you guys think for ONE of these options for hydras?

1. Get curse ability like mummy (will indirectly increase defense)
2. Get immune to visual attack (cannot blind all the heads )

... maybe 3. Get mind immunity (cannot control all the heads , it's too CHAOTIC)

I am stuck on the Hydra issue a bit more because I almost never tend to pick them because of the benefits of the Black Dragons and it's syenergy with hero armies.

BTW I managed to add abilities (tested flying for hydras), so I can add up to 4 (could not find the guide for 5) abilities per creature.

I believe you need to add a dll extension if you wish to add all new abilities - we are many who wants to dig into this area but only a few a programmers.
A few info about changing/adding creature abilities are quoted in the link I posted - but you prob. know this already. Anyway I recall vaguely having encountered theories on the Russian Equilibris forum about how to add a 5th ability to creatures, so I will point you in that direction.

I think TheUnknown/Nimo is the one(s) to do it. I mostly experienced in minor modding like txt editing and objects and graphics. Not actual exe modding - yet..

Well Nimo did some "Greatest mod". However we are looking for not maybe the greatest but just playable mod to play it online.

Hi guys, I agree with most of the changes you suggest Brennus. I will add a few remarks :

- evil sorcerers should have basic cancellation at start then mass cancellation when they are many, as is for most of the spell caster creatures ;
- hydras instead of increased moove should have a terrain walk skill, as was suggested elsewhere. It's ok for me if they have also some magic resistance.

I read also what you wrote, TheUnknown, but I disagree with what you said. All your propositions are useless or unbalancing changes so I reject them.

You probably meant when targeted at range by them. Melee should still work.
