The number of books translated in a year only in Spain surpasses all Arabic speaking nations translate in 50. Not to mention, most of the countries directly ban things or mistranslate them on purpose if they conflict with Islamic tradition anyway. The universities, even such as EL-Ezher are not secular, it is forbidden to come up with information that contradict with the teachings of Quran. In these last years since Islamists are in control, our 3 universities that were in top 500 internationally are no more in the top 500, more than half of the academics who have international credibility ran abroad saying universities are no longer fit to produce scientific information in Turkey, we now have professors who suggest prophet Noah maye have had cell phone technology! It is like some plauge of anti-analyitical thinking. So, yes, the pool of information they dip in is extremely small and radically different. Debating any social/anthropological fact, you will mostly see they speak from a completely different databank cultivated in an aquarium of fantasy, propaganda and bad logic.
The level of crap information people are spoonfed in Africa must be significantly worse though. Humanity exists for around 300.000 frigging years, has abstraction capabilities for 75.000. It went through so many variations of cultures and mating customs, it is beyond count. There is no singular, unified custom of relations before modern West. And even anthropologists that say monogamy is much more RECENT than we thought it was, date back its first examples to at least 10.000 years ago.
And needless to say, if you think monogamy is superficial, that may be, but then you’d have to give a free pass to both parties, not just men. That is not “siding with women,” it is only being FAIR. Such a corruptive doctrine, still existing and intoxicating people’s mentality like this...

While there is certainly a symbolic truth behind this statistics, is not properly formulated: translated in spanish, not in Spain. Of we know that there are 400 million spanish speaking people around the world. Just to clarify, not that I think that muslims got any civilized lately, but you were too harsh.

I can go and check the book, I specifically remember it as “in Spain.” I know it’s a shocking ratio.

Actually, turns out I was even optimistic, not harsh. The actual quote from Bernard Lewis is this, I will be translating it back to English since I have the Turkish version:
"The Arab World translates 330 books a year, this number is 1/3 of Greece. Since the time of Caliph Memun (9th Century), the number of books that were translated in total is 100.000 and this equals to one year of production in Spain"

Hahaha for the record, my sources on what I am saying are Stendhal and Freud, who are western psychologists. Even though books might not be translated en masse in the Arab world, I make up for it by speaking English, French, Italian and Spanish at expert level, German at middle level and even Macedonian at start level.
Thus, I can read books if that is the element some completely biaised weirdo based his anti-argumentation on. I wonder how someone can take an hour to write a pave long post only to vomit his hatred on a whole part of the world with such a violence not wanting to take a effing hint that I am constantly refusing to read his posts for I know them being sophistically elaborated BS, I only understand it as the proof of that massive bias.

Then you misinterpret both of them. I mentioned you might be referring to Freud already, because it is very easy to read how blatantly you misinterpret him. According to Freud the engine of love is sex, so sex and love can not be mutually exclusive for men by default. And most of his analysis on women psyche are extremely representitive of Victorian Age values and very outdated to say the least, just like you he lived in an environment where female sexuality was a taboo, so his observations were not of “bare human nature” but periodical.
Btw, you dont have to be an idiot to be indoctrinated. The problem is, you HAVE TO defend one-sided polygamy no matter what, because your indoctrination doesnt allow you to see it as an unjust custom. So you come up with absurd historical conclusions that make everyone go “WTF???” I dont go WTF, since I know “this part” of the world better and I know how Muslims try to rationalize which custom by what kind of logic. That alone let’s me know how much English you speak so you have no linguistic lessons to give me. I am also graduated from a British university, in case you want to call the brainwash argument again.

You should tell Yale they are making terrible historical errors by teaching Islam the way they do, because they are far from what you constantly stutter. First of all, I did read Stendhal, stop making the assumption that your interpretations of Stendhal or Freud are spot on, they are “not even wrong” level interpretations.
Second of all, it is quite weird for you to assume I know Islam only from books or history (I also know it from those, you thought a hadith was a pirate chant ffs, dont try to lecture me on textbook knowledge, when I linked you verses you denied the existence of, you switched to “those shouldnt be read literally.”) I live in a Muslim populated country, governed by Islamist politicians for 16 years. But let us say, I do have prejudice, now ask yourself this, let us take 10.000 random people, Europeans, Japanese, Yezidis, Hindus, Chinese, even ethnically muslim non-religious people such as myself. Let us tell them they must wish one religion away from the world, which religion would the extreme majority pick? We both know the answer to that, dont we? Why are there hundreds of books about the crisis of Islamic world, why is there a word called Islamophobia and yet, not Buddismophobia? Is all the world full of meaningless prejudice or is it more likely that it is you who is not objective about something you admitedly believe with unquestioning faith.
And, btw, you ignore me because you snapped on the Israel debate when you had no reasonable answer to give me.
