Warcraft Reign of Chaos animation

Didn't know where to but this. Very cool fan-made animation reconstructing Warcraft III storyline first few events, built on WoW engine.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFtBoUMx--Q

A really nice appetizer while awaiting Warcraft III Reforged.

EDIT: I know many people think Warcraft series went downhill after Warcraft II, yet I think Warcraft III storyline was written very well, and the above animation only ascertains me that I would like to expierience it once more, and I'm quite hyped for "Reforged". W3 was made back when Blizzard still created quality products...

gonna watch it later. What is reforged by the way? New game, or new movie, like the warcraft movie that's been released some 4-5 years ago, and which has been pretty cool to be honest?

It bombed so there won't be any sequels probably. I personally liked it although it could've been made better.

The only chance is they will make a CGI movie like they do best. Or were doing at least. I'm thinking that with their current quality of writing such a movie would be a fiasco... even if it was a retelling of past events.

??? Who bombed what?

As for the movie I honestly haven't found any flaw to it, even if there's been a lot of CGI. CGI is not bad if it's used in the right amount and if the movie has an enticing plot

Well the movie was universally acclaimed as a failure (even the director himself stated it: https://screenrant.com/warcraft-movie-not-priority-blizzard-entertainment/). Yes it did do well in China which ultimately saved it with 2.5x bigger income then it's production cost, but it appears it wasn't good enough. It also seems Blizzard wasn't as supportive of the movie as you might think, so it doesn't bode well...

Ofc that doesn't mean there won't be a sequel, but currently it seems to be really low on the priority list in Blizzard. If it did good enough they would immidiately decide to make a sequel...

but... but... I liked it. I don't need critics or blizzard or whoever to tell me what to like / dislike. But I got your point, and I still think they should make a sequel. Maybe China will save them again

Yeah I also liked the movie. I think it was one of the better game to movie adaptations. Unfortunately if it weren't for the "director" cuts it would've been even better, maybe a movie that would be the talk of the community for years to come. In reality I don't think Blizzard even references to the movie that much, like it didn't even exists (imo it should be advertised on their pages more).

Back when the movie was announced I thought the next big thing for the franchise would happen, the potential was huge (film focuses on Orcs vs Humans, we rarely even see references to the rich world of the franchise, other races, monsters etc). Now I rarely even see the movie mentioned anywhere...

Although I've seen a comment like this: "It's a partnership with Legendary and we have lots of conversations with them," she continues. "We're trying to figure out what's the right thing for the franchise, what's the right thing for Warcraft and for the World of Warcraft and for the fan base. It might it be another movie, it might be something episodic, we're having conversations about it. We're looking at the right answer is that will best serve the franchise." by Lydia Bottegoni (Senior Vice Presidents of Story and Franchise Development).

Ofc this stance might have changed since Blizzcon 2018, there were some layoffs and such along the way...

I liked it, too, but what you and I like doesn't matter in the end. What matters if the studio brass thinks is a worthy investment. Pretty much the same as any future Heroes title.

And even if the projected end result is positive, it may not be positive enough to warrant its creation. You'll likely always find people who would see it - but what matters is if the hordes out there that aren't as invested in such a product can be lured to the cinema's.

I agree, but if the chinese have saved the producers' profits for the first movie they can (and will) do it again. But maybe Blizzard has bigger plans than making another 150% profit and we might not know it?!?

Oh well, I don't give a crap anyway. I just liked the movie and that's that!

Yeah, with gaming brands making so much money nowadays, what fans want is a completely separate matter...

If they heard what fans wanted they would've made a fully CGI animated cinematic experience, even if it's supposedly more expensive then a movie with life actors...

I thought the movie was pretty great too. It had some obvious flaws but the CGI Looked damn good and fight scenes were really well made. Lots of long shots and cool characters. The orcs were the best part! Sadly they threw in the nonsense about the all power mages and some darkness orb thing in the final act. Then a high council gets thrown in your face. Some Things should have been left out. I remember the movie making a lot of money but they put so much money into marketing that it didn’t break even.

I would love to see a sequel to it one day. There are so many better stories to tell (arthas and trall) that would reach a bigger audience. Oh well

couldn't say it better myself. Blizzard disappoints me very much, actually. World of Wacraft was always my favorite game, and it hurts me to see that it's really bad now. It's not so interesting as it was. The new expansions are just repeating each other, there is nothing new in it. Finally, it's all about grinding. You have to kill mobs and complete quests and raids, that's all you can do in that game. By the way, the raids are really difficult, you need really good items if you wanna complete them. I don't know, I don't have so much time, so I decided to use a mythic dungeons bfa boosting, just to save some time. And it was a great idea, the service is very cheap and effective, and thanks to it I have skipped the dull part.
