Is H7 worth playing?
Strictly speaking from a campaign and novice level 1v1 games, are H6 and H7 worth playing? I stopped playing after H5 tribes of the east, when H6 was in the making. I heart it was a mess, so I didn't try it out, and same with the one that followed.
Thanks in advance

I guess it's mainly personal taste, really. H6 and H7 both weren't great, if you ask me. H6 dumbed the game down and removed a lot of what made Heroes games really Heroes games. H7 tried to repair a lot of the damage done with H6, but fell short as it pushed things too far in the other direction. Mostly, these failings were caused by a developer that lacked any vision as to what the game should be and how to get there, coupled with a budget that was simply invested in the wrong areas.
But still, there are people who do enjoy these games, so it might be something you could enjoy.
I for myself mainly play single player campaigns and consider H3 to be best in the series, followed by H5 (although the 3D environment is really something I dislike about it).

You'll miss none of those two games.
H6 COULD BE interesting, if the maps would feature interesting objects to visit and fight for and it wasn't such a barebone thing, the graphical glitz notwithstanding.
H7 COULD BE interesting, if the game wasn't a clunky mess without any rhythm and ugly where H6 was glitzy, at least.
For the effort that went into those games, the result is unsatisfactory - carefully phrased.
So even for a bargain price, I don't think you'll be happy with them.
EDIT:: On a novice level 1 on 1, H6 might be interesting, because what Mauruce called "dumbed down" is actually a try to simplify the game for MP/Hotseat. I find H6 well playable in that regard, so this might be worth a try. The campaigns, well, I don't like them, but I also disliked the campaigns in H3 and H5 (H2 and H4 are my cup of tea).

I still cannot get how the hell they went through the idea that uses inanimated 3d models for story cutscreen in H7. It looks uncanny and creepy as hell.
That reason alone should be enough for you to stay out of it forever. It shows how poor direction and project management were.

You might find something in Heroes 6, Heroes 7 even less. Personally, I'd go for 6. But really, it's not just about Heroes, there's tons of games out there that would make playing either a waste of your time.

TBH 7 is in my humble opinion not nearly as bad as people act like. I think a lot of the (completely justified) anger at how the fans and the game were treated during the development makes people see it in a worse light than they would have if they weren't around for that.
