The Nile is Dying
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKCW5Gg6Ffo
The waterflow from the Nile has been gradually decreasing in the past years. Farmland in Egypt and Cairo is situated all along the Nile and is a vital food source for the country. The water source of the Nile comes upstream from mountains in Ethiopia, which is building a major hydroelectric dam that will provide a lot of power that it can also sell to neighboring countries, so naturally, they support the project as well. This would require creating a large reservoir of water that would drain the Nile downstream and into Egypt, putting farmers in a perilous situation.
In the past few years they've come to an agreement and the the reservoir is going to be filled more slowly so that farmers can adapt, but Egypt is still going to have to renovate its farming in order to use water much more efficiently.
Something I've heard about people using are solar canals. Basically, you arch solar panels overtop of a canal and this serves a triple function: you get solar power, you don't have to fill up a bunch of dry land with solar panels, and you also provide shade over the canal to prevent evaporation.
Still, the source of the Nile itself is diminishing as the rainfall has decreased in the mountains in and around Ethiopia where the waters accumulate to create the Nile.

Sobek is my favorite Egyptian god. Back when I used to create custom Heroes factions in the Coliseum, I considered making a faction based around an avaricious crocodile race that were slavers, but I never got around to it and my interest with the franchise was already dying.
Maybe if the Nile turns to mud, we can relocate West Nile crocodiles here so that we can raise them as pets and/or eat them

crocodiles are my favorite animals. saltwater crocs for their size, niles for their hostility and penchant for being the type that eat the most people. plus, brutal in their execution method. on top of that, they're good with their young, for the most part. nature's beauty, heart, power, and lethality, all rolled into one great package(something that endears me to other animals like wolves, tigers, and sharks, as well).

A lot like squirrels. Squirrels are pretty much the crocodiles of the trees.

The issue isn't having enough water though; it's having the appropriate distribution of water that is actually drinkable and/or usable for farming. A lot of that water is locked up at the Poles. If temperatures go up and rainfall decreases, it's going to affect areas that have highly concentrated populations.

Finance has killed the planet. Either we roll with it and don't care or do something about it.
