Nothing out of the ordinary for a 79 year-old - but under anesthesia???

He did the right thing and backed the legal system, whether he likes it or not. No reason to diss him because of that.
But a colonoscopy under anesthesia??? Seriously? That's worse than getting a lidocaine injection just because you get a filling for a tooth!

What's wrong with anesthesia? I just had a small operation for hemoroids and when they asked, I prefered to be put to sleep also. Why would you want to be awake when they are doing things in your ass.

This is a half-serious thread. But the serious part is, that neither gastroscopy nor colonoscopy actually needs anesthesia - which I can speak of with great certainty because I've had at least a dozen gastros and a colon as well, and I can tell you that anesthesia is NOT necessary. You do NOT have to go a hospital. You do NOT have to suffer a propofol anesthesia, leaving you stoned (and may have serious side effects).
Colon hasn't got pain receptors, by the way.

Well, I had some operations myself besides this one, hernia. I suffered no side effects from it. Especially, if it's a short operation and the dose is small, anesthesia is harmless. In old age it can be a little risky but they test you for that before the op.

It isn't an OP. It's a diagnostic thing. Trust me - no anesthesia needed. No hospital needed. They are just taking a peek. And YOU can take a peek as well. Pretty interesting actually.
