Common sense
Ok friends.. Why am I writing a common sense - thread? First I tell one story, after that you can present common sense or argue with your friends. Is the matter clear? Good!
Ok do you know about rain, fog, etc? When the Bible told fog cares for paradise, and later on rain, thus Noah. But common fact says sea, fog, etc are born rain, if without a sea, etc so never rains.. And then flood? We need a math, an example of Reunion in 1966, only one rainy day raised 1.8m of water.. If I understood right.. It means 100 days will do 180meter.. But the Bible said only 40d.. And water covers Mount Everest! It needed math.. When evil/bad people tried to Noah's ark.. But it rain isn't from the God, it is from sea, fog, etc So the same matter.. Don't forget atmospheric pressure, also known as air pressure or barometric pressure in the mountains..

Well, it should be clear that common sense in the 21st century and the Bible are not really compatible.
That said, we do know that in the days pre-science all statements about time and place tend to be symbolic. People used to say things like "a year and a day" when they really meant "a long indeterminate time. 40 has been a symbolic number, so raining 40 days and nights doesn't really mean exactly forty. And that the flood covered everything is bull, too - how would they have known it did?

Ok, I said you can talk about common sense or argue with your friend..
But JJ presented time, what I built for the conversation/discussion.. If I just write rain, it would be boring and short..
Yes, it should also fit with the Bible, because people tell lies, but common sense wins. When little children believe the myth because no education, so the same adept/valid from the old world, e.g. from the Middle Ages..

When the God fixes the Sun between Earth.. So the whole Earth has in about +20°C.. Thus the mountains can growing wheats, etc How? If the mountains are in very high place, it means land is hotter, etc How about day and night are the same means September equinox.. When other plant/vege species need more light, temperature, etc or the birches don't get a rest.. You can add on something.. Debate it!
EDIT
Remember that +20°C isn't exact number, when Adam and Eve were naked, so lukewarm night..

We don't know what the earth looked like before the flood. The Bible says that there were some large reservoirs of water above and they fell to the earth. Waters above the firmament. The earth is completely different now. It was probably smaller. And the waters fell because it expanded. Everything can be explained logically. The flood is absolutely true and cannot be considered a symbol. Like the sentence that God closed the doors of the ark when everyone had entered. This is of course a sign of God's care.

Since according to the legend, the flood took place AFTER the existence of humans, Pangea is irrelevant. Besides, there is not a geological event in the history of Earth that sunk all the existing land, it never happened. That would be Pangea sinking all together, not breaking into pieces.
It is obvious that ancient people thought of their own local surroundins as “the world” and told the tale of a great flood accordingly. The story made it into The Bible after passing from generation to generation. An earlier version of it can be traced back in the myth of Gilgamesh. This is the historical approach.
You can also think of it as a symbolical story, a moral tale etc. if you desire.
Anything else would not be within the framework of “common sense” which is the title of this thread.

.I asked a few times about this context. I'm not gonna elaborate, I'm just gonna point out that allegedly God the creator said in "our" image instead of his. Which could infer God was not alone.
I've only heard back one answer I feel is weak. And assuming. They say God referes to himself as Us, and Our, because of the trinity.

Don't forget two things: the Mariana Trench, and an Earth adds/gets/grows 30,000 ton weight in a year.. The most weight is a water molecule from space..
