man how these threads grow in less than 12 hours
All I can say is, Im not worried at all. The 'beta testing' of the automation was season IV and it was great. If the multi surfaces by the time the new season begins, ToH will be homm4, with homm3 subtourneys.
If we dont get wind of multi anytime after july, then ToH will be another season of homm3, a season V. All I do know is that activity will definitely go up with a new season of homm3, maybe not like peaktime activity, but enough to keep all volunteer's hands full.
About homm4, let me put it to you this way, nowadays its become a regular thing with me and mel, we look forward to a hot seat game of homm4. It think its fun as hell. So I dont know where some of you are getting such a negative feeling for it; I wouldnt be running a homm4 TOH if I didnt like it. And there are many who love it. What will kill all of this is if those fools at 3do dont supply us with multi. I am even as patient as to get the multi with expansion later in november and have this next 4-6 months another homm3 season.
About ToT, it was only there because people kept asking for some ToH tourney to run. It will remain active till the new season opens, but it is only a secondary tourney in a time of dormancy.

oops..
I was assuming the 21 remaining days were counting down the release of the multiplayer patch.. but u can see why most hate heroes 4. crappy AI, and no one to sit down and play hotseat with like u and Mel do Ves.
Id like to see h4 multi before I get to the point in school where I have no time for games. 9 months till graduation..and last 5-6 get down to the really hard stuff. I remember when we thought multi patch was comin a few weeks after the release..and now its a few months lol
oh well, guess we shall see..Im usin the TOH countdown of 21 days to decide what to do after, and hopefully its playin H4 multi and havin fun

Hia all 
Lost cause,too many other tourney's,lack of interrest,or just bored of Heroes!.....etc.
I could go on for hours with ANY kind of ' Why I do not play heroes 3 anymore '
I can see why some of the vet's wants to get ToH to go in a new direction. As many of us know they have been around for over 3 years, same game, and in the latest 2 of em same tactic's ..etc. same ole same ole....
BUT some of us have only been around for 1 or 2 seasons. There are the real problem, as I see it. Andi mentioned it in an earlier post, many new peeps ( his words  ) are daily comming online to play. Nothing bad about that...but I think thats the problem, some have been playing this game for years, and some just bought it yesterday!
I still keep asking myself, what do we do to satisfy all players?
Thats where I turn around and look at Jinxer's post about ' too many other tourney's '
To satisfy oneself or maybe others with the same way of thinking, then these people make their own tourney's ( +1 point to the looser or not ) but it is their tourney and their rules, and it makes them and their members happy! So imho there is nothing we can do about that, face it, not all of us likes ToH, not all of us likes all these 'pop-ups' tourneys. SO, make the individual make up their OWN mind as to where they play ( it is the same game afterall )
But ( a bit late, but still ) back to my original question : We need to do something to get 'most' of us to play in the same place under the same'roof-top', to get the overall activity up and running again. But how?
Remember, before you answer, this is not intetioned to be a slander of Heroes3 NOR heroes4 or ToH and ANY of the other tourneys, just a thread to get us all 'in the clear'

I don't see a real problem here
People are concerned about the drop in numbers of players in the Zone and how H3 is dead (I tell you it is not) and how much H4 sucks.
Folks, think about it for a minute. Do you actually think Ves would invest all the time and money that he's put into ToH only to watch it fall to pieces because people got bored with H3 and don't like H4?
I personally believe that with regard to Heroes, the drop in Zone activity is directly proportional to the dormancy of ToH.
I predict that when Vesuvius opens his tourney back up in a couple of weeks and things start going full steam again that those numbers in the Training Grounds are going to skyrocket back up to the 120's+ again.
And I say this not knowing whether it's going to be another season of H3 or the first season of H4--it ain't gonna matter.
People who don't like H4 are still going to have the classic subtournament to play H3 in.
Most Vets are going to keep coming back for more simply because of all the fun they have playing the game with the great friends they've made in the past few years.
People are gonna want Clans. They'll want Divisions. There's the new subtournies that are slated for next season. Hell, mebe we'll even Fest again
Then there's the system. Points, ranks, icons, prestiege, honor ratings, player profiles.....we've barely had a taste of some of this so far.
And then there's the constant influx of new blood. Take a look in the zone, there's almost always a new name in there every other day or so. People are still buying the game and finding the Zone.
Heroes isn't dead. It's too damned good of a game to die.
Some folks may move on to other things, but a lot of us will be around for a long time to come.
And someday, with a little luck, I might actually get good at this game that's occupied so much of my free time these past 3 years

In a way , i like the way points are scored right now....it gaved me the chance to play against some really good players , something that wasn`t possible in the last season becuse they only played each other for being affraid of losing to many points to a footman or squire...

Man you guys really flame HOMM4. Whats so bad about it? I have been playing the campaign for only a little bit but I didn't think it was that bad.
Am I gonna have to break out the HOMM3 CD's again? How many expansions with HOMM3 did you guys deal with? All of em? I only have AB. How many were there besides AB?

well deth8 has turned into a hardcore diablo2 fan
thanks to me that is.
(Though I prefered the dvd movie cd it came with -- the cutscenes are great, but thats pretty much what I played it for, like starcraft).

@deth8 or vesuvius : just a question - what does deth8 think about homm 4 . i think its very important for Toh. he has a very important position in H4 TOH - i dont think it would be good for toh if the Chairman doesnt show much interest in HOMM 4 .
