what may come next:-
1. Tolkiens original book will be renamed "The Bush of Greatness", so as to be innofensive.
2. Bin Liners will be renamed "Refuse sacks of evil"
3. Items will no longer be able to be bought in pairs.
4. Children will be arrested if they knock over the towers they make with their Lego on the grounds that this is a subversive crimial act.
5. Gandalf and saruman must cut off their beards as they are too similar to that of Bin Laden
6. The Quest in LOTR must also be changed as the pit of fire is obviously a reference to september 11th
7. A ring is also not allowed to be used, as in dim light, it could look like a pentagonal shape, which is also a banned cultural reference.
8. The entire story is actually a metaphor, and Tolkien must be dug up and put on trial as a traitor.

All I can say, is after reading a few of the things ppl wrote on their signatures... I hope he doesn't try to turn that in. Most of those signatures are saying "You are an idiot, shut this petition down!" so... he is obviously having zero luck.
Although I truly think he needs to rethink that idea and that he is a ****ing jerk, I also think that that guy doesn't stand much of a chance, or a problem. So stop worrying. But he does need a brain transplant.

"It seems that Tolkien's son in responce to pressure groups from the USA, will indeed change the name of the second instalment of LOTR. "The Two Towers", brings back emotions of horror, and Tolkien says that the US release will now be called "A Walk in the Trees". This alternate title strategy has been successfully used before in last year's "Harry Potter" movie in which the Foriegn title was the "Philosopher's Stone" and the US title was the "Sorcerer's Stone". US audiences were assumed to not read or see any material with the word philosophy in it, so the darker Sorcerer's title was used."

This petition is not improving my overall mood today. The "tasteless title" of the Two Towers? Honestly! What sort of rock has this pig been living under that he doesn't realize that the title has been around for over 40 years? And, amazingly talented though he was, Tokien was not a psychic. The very idea of "holding Tolkien responsible" mentioned by some people is sick and perverted. I do take joy in this, however:
