I say we need to produce a LOT of alcohol (vodka preferably) and get everybody drunk. In this we will achieve:
A)Everyone will be so happy they'll forget all the existing problems.
B)Everyone will be too drunk to create new problems.

A finnish author wrote a book about this sort of thing... An extreme nature activist group wanted to spread a virus in the atmosphere with a nuclear bomb. The virus was supposed to make all people unable to have children, thus destroying mankind. Apparently they wanted that when aliens found earth they would realise that humans were wise enough to kill themselves before the planet was destroyed
