Anyone else here who likes Terry Pratchett's work (Discworld)?

Discworld: yes! I particularly enjoy the Death bunch; Reaper Man is my favorite. The City Watch ones are also very funny.
The LOTR is the granddaddy of fantasy, but Tolkien's writing style irritates me. The lack of gender balance also got to me.

Is it me, or Death appears in every book of the series? I don't know, as I've only read (in chronoligical order): Thief of Time, The Truth, Interesting Times and Sourcery.

Death may make a cameo in all of them. Most of the time, though, it's just one paragraph as he comes to collect some expendable character. I haven't read Sourcery or Interesting Times yet; are they good?

FINAL FANTASY RULES!
All of them, but since we are talking about storyline, I think FF7 is the best in it, followed for FF6 and FF8... absolutely no match for them.
Movies: Star Wars, of course!
Books: LOTR!

Discworld is a great series! Each book I read so far is funnier than the last and there are so many to enjoy. And death appeared in every book I read so far and I love that coz he is funny . My favorite books from the series are the ones about the city watch (Guards! Guards!, Men at Arms, Feet of Clay etc.)
But my favorite series of all time is the Death Gate Cycle by Weis and Hickman. Although those books are not so popular, I find them better than Tolkien or Dragonlance because they are fun to read and have lots of philosophical dilemas and conflicts that make you think even more than LotR. Anyone who is yet to read these series should do so as soon as possible!

Just reach page 55 (English version, Corgi release) of Interesting times, and you won't stop laughing before you start again for a couple of pages.
Sourcery? Here are my fav quotes: "Cohen says death is but a sleep. The way I see it, it's a lot harder to get up in the morning." (that's where my current sig comes from) and "Death is not cruel. He's just really, really good at his job."

Final Fantasy has a good story, but I think Baldur's Gate series has a very good story because it's interactive and pretty much in your control to some extent. and fallout is fun as a hilarious story. It's pretty much fun with a mix of violence, vulgarity and laughter. I luvvit. If there is a game for sadness it is probrably silent hill, the console game for playstation. Extrmely sad game. Gets me down but has a good story...If you're looking for sadism, you probrably like MaxPayne. Poor guy, his perfect life ruined so quick. Mwahahaha.
