On HOMM3 . . .
I still play 3. I haven't purchased 4 yet, I've heard too much about bugs, and incomplete expansion packs. Sounds like it - well, sux.
Anyhow, I've never played a tournament before, or against other players. I'd like to give it a try, just to see if I'm as good as I like to believe I am. Maybe a "mini-tourney" for those who are inexperienced in tourneys or something like that.
I'd also need to know what kind of time commitment is required. I could spend about 5-10 hours per week, but probably not 20 hours per week.
There's my $.02.

I forgot to say one more thang I think it's soooo cute how you have a cute kitty angel avatar & get anoyed I just cant picture a nice cute kitty getting annoyed

Ok you want to get serious lets talk serious & get to the facts people are sick & tired of playing the same thang & same tournies for so many yrs why you think they retired or moved to heroes 4 they want a change it's like real life you stand still & you cant move on until you change I am a supporter of both games & play both.
You think you can really change what is going on ok good i support it but you know what is right to do 7 what wont help.
Do somethang then dont keep talking, talking is bs action is better I see mandi trying to make your wishes happen but all I see is more talking.
Get together & talk it out quit f,nt complaining about the past let it go man shoot be forgiving for once if there is a problem & work out some ideas 7 I am sure there will be map makers out there with much quality as JB he is a outstanding map maker with my respects but damn he is not the only one you think he is a map god 7 he is but others got qualities too.
Make it happen & shut up I am not trying to sound like a dick believe me I am trying to speak reason & I guess from Andis post but there are many supporters out there for heroes 3 & since I been here you know what your problems is? it's a personal fued andetta. They dislike a person so they want nothing to do with them but they want thangs to happen well forget what happened in the past it happened let it go ok.
Cant you see shes just once people to play in her tourney with her 3 kids, husband a job & a life, quit being so herartless & talk it over you guys would really be surprised how wrong you are about most people you never even gave us a chance 7 that is not right.
Then you post here like it's our fault well f that more action & less talk.
How can you want anythang done if youdont work on the basics & that means communication with the person that runs the site.
Just let it go it's over start a new.

I have a map that's almost complete. If you want new and refreshing, then you should look at this map. It's unlike any map you've ever played.
Do you want me to E-mail it to you as a start?
I'll be glad to start on some more maps with my spare time. New fixed maps that don't follow the old scheme would be great for H3. Too bad Wiggy wasn't here anymore. He'd be great at this tourny.
Although I think that if we have a master of maps tournament, the best maps from the mapmaking tourny should be used for this. Then the rest that qualify as balanced enough to be played, can be used in the blind maps tourny. Jinxer is right. Do anything you can to make this game fresh and new.
As a last thought, I think that attracting completely new players could work. A topic in the tavern was talking about people turning to other games like Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2. Try to get other people to check out Heroes 3. Bug the **** out of them. Keep telling them to try Myths. Anything to get new people who have never played before. I'm not totally addicted to Heroes, because I rarely have 4-5 hour blocks of free time on my hands, so I can't always play. I do enjoy the game quite much. I wish I had more time to play. 
If there was only a way to advertize this game. I've talked to other people at school who play computer games a lot and many of them have never heard of Heroes of Might and Magic. I was shocked too. I guess it shows that 3DO is terrible at marketing.
I know this may sound strange, but I think that there are many people who play only in one online tournament. If we could merge them together, it would unite the remaining fans that are left. Sticking together would be the best way to prolong this game. Perhaps an increased activity would cause more old H3 fans, like Hexa, to play more than once in a while. I think that part of the success in H3 toh was that the addiction was very contagious. If a bunch of people get excited that will spread quickly like it has in the past. Of course it won't be as big as in season 4, but it will still be significant. I really don't see what we have to lose in trying. Many people say that they don't care, but they mistake that for thinking that H3 is over.

i do a lot for h3 unlike you aculias trash talker, i tried to get that edited rdm map tourney going (was quiet a success until closure), i help with b@stards (only a little bit thou, pandora does 90% of the job, but i suggest what i can there), and i help on our german site...
if you would do anything else that tossing you would know me and motorschaaf dont only talk, but we do what we say.
Specially schaaf fired off about 5 tourneys on german league, so be sure if we get any feedback we will do this.

Blind Random tourny was fantastic..
Why not continue it...mostly vets left anyway
I know I'm out of it now ..but it's greatest toury I've seen yet to my liking(bracked style)
Continue it and then have another...
I'm sure participants will honor deadlines..as was done for the most part so far..except for a few.

Yes I know exactly what you guys do 7 it's good then why this post if you do all this why?
My reply was not a toss at all & what are you some kind of heroes god that gives the right to toss others who the heck do you think you are.
For one mayhaps it's just me but you are not a fair volunteer & that random tourney failed because of you, yea thats right YOU.
Whining & cryinf from little thangs from quality points to big thangs from helping heroes 3 dont you see what I was trying to say.
What is the point of this thread then?
Why dont you tell us what is the point after you posted what you posted above since you concider yourself a heroes god.
what do you want from me, I been supporting you guys all this time you just couldnt see it just like how others couldnt see what you meant with most your post in HC.

Don't know if this idea has been done before, it looks somewhat like motor's suggestion mapmasters, but it could be fun. I'm also willing to contribute to the implementation of it when the idea is appreciated.
Empires:
- Players join in pairs of four. Those pairs form the empires but initially they control no land.
- Maps played are 2v2 and 4v4 new open maps.
- Individual player scores are kept for each map. 1 point is gained for each win on a map unowned by any empire. Losing on a map counts as a -1 penalty (does not reduce score below 0). Players who have the highest number of points on a certain map are denounced supreme lord of that map and the map is 'added' to the empire that player belongs to. From that moment, other empires can challenge teammembers of the supreme lord (or the supreme lord him/herself) on that map. This means two other empires cannot play against each other on the map. The empire that 'owns' the map must always be one of the two parties playing in that map. If a supreme lord of a certain map wins a game in a that map, he/she receives 2 additional points. His team members get one additional point for winning. Should the supreme lord lose a battle on his/her own 'territory', he/she receives a -3 penalty, teammembers who lose -2. Not accepting a challenge within a 3 (or other amount) day period, results in a -5 penalty for the supreme lord and -3 for his teammates.
- Final individual scores are calculated as follows. Final score calculation for all maps (just a summary) + a bonus - a penalty. The bonus is calculated by looking at the amount of games a player was supreme lord (or member of an empire owning a map to a lesser extent) in all maps. The penalty is a calculation from the win/loss ratio of a player, and for losing the status of supreme lord (if applicable and - for each time losing the status).
- Final empire scores are calculated by making the sum of all team member scores, also taking final empire size into account (amount of maps owned at the end).
Probably this idea could be altered in some ways to make it better, but I believe it has potential.

You are right in alot Titans I always respected that but the end with it being over well it's not over for alot of us yet that is.
I am tired of fighting & sorry if you think I just toss which is not the case it takes two to disagree & argue & also means that if one person tosses then the other person also is tossing.
I been supporting all volunteers & even you Andi why do we always have to keep fighting like somethang flew up your butt all the time?
Lets just stop arguing & everyone is upset about recent events but comeon it's not worth getting mad about lets just bury the hatchet.
Not saying I am too stupid & weird but just stop arguing are you not tired of it?
Were all human & make mistakes mayhaps I am not as smart as you that probally is fact but i made some mistakes & sometimes my english is not as good as yours & I did it to myself but dont mean that I am weird I cant help if some are smarter then others.
With all the support you been bringing to heroes 3 in all the tournaments why you always treat people like you do because you helped in volunteering.
Mayhaps all the volunteers dont trust me 7 thats fine they have a right to make a choice right or wrong but if you really think about it i really done nothing really bad to you & I supported you in the past.
Lets bury this hatchet for once I am tired.

aculias...do you have to comment EVERYTHING? half of the posts in this thread are yours...well i gave up on telling oyu everything, but you shoudl realize yourself when you get on all others nerves...
the whole thread wont reach anything again just coz its so long noone wants to read through it, and why is that? coz some peeps have to post each minute to be satisfied...just annoying it is.

why should i play ...look i havent played a single game since the new automatation and im still on a very high rank.. the current ranks mean nuthing cause they are totally spoiled with the former myth ranks (well noone listened when i said that the idiotic transfer rate will kill activity - now u can see what i meant if u just take a look at the higher ranks now lol ) - so me and prolly many other veterans have lost interest in that ranks
and because of that the only motivation would be cool subtourneys . and a serious background. lets all be true right now none of the veterans takes myth serious.
thats why i post all such posts on this boar to change that. if nothing changes irn and other will prolly be right - h3 will be dead soon.
but to corrtent a mistake u have first to admit u made one...i cant see that the current organisators ever did...even if this horrible situation right now..well maybe when zone activity drops below 10 players...
some should wake up - right now its the wrong situation to tell what a good job everyone is makin...

LOL Motor. I was a General in season 3, correction FieldMarshall. IN season 3 I playing massive chaining, I played Hg3 week 2 week 3 super rush. I am able to play that way. I played GiantWar, BOB, Sd3, etc all of them maps and I played them the way you like to play them. " See who is fastest." I got tired and board of it. IN season 4 I switched to randoms to keep my interest up.
*** The bottom line Motor is YOU are a big CRYBABY!!!! YOU talk of wanting to save your game BUT only want to hear what you want to hear. People havd told you the reason of inactivity and how to fix some of it and you ignore it. I have tryed to be nice, but you are the 10 year old in here and weather you want to believe it or not, players like you are part of the reason why TOH and H3 are a dying breed.
Your small mind is not able to expand and see any differnece concepts or ideas for H3. You are stuck in the past. MAP Masters tourny, LMFAO!!!! You hate Randoms because you SUCK at them lol. Next your gonna say they are unbalanced. Well if you were as great of player as you think you are, you would be able to do like MIDNIGHT or ARCHDEVIL666 does and beable to still win on an unbalanced map. But you cant because your Talent in H3 is LIMITED to a week 3 speed strategy that you have memorized like a formula on most medium TOH maps.
Up until your last post I had respect for you Motor and your ideas, but now I personally wont back any of your ideas for Myths TOH.
If fact I dont think anyone is gonna take you seriously. Go back to German league and play your Map masters 3,000 times. Get your GiantWar trophy. Then next year run that same Map masters tourny and once again get your GiantWar Trophy. lol. You can have 5 more years of GiantWar Masters trophies LMAO.
