you dont GET a post in the hall of fame, you can earn it..by voting for example?

OK for example: Say I get a post in the top 5 and someone can't stand the post, then there will most likely be an argument or some type of flamming about the post and the person. That make sence?
Not much.
If you have that kind of post in Tavern, there'll be arguments about it too, don't see any difference. And as I see it, forum would be for closed threads so that argument(if any happens) would be long over by the time when thread gets retired...
What's this 'top 5'? If this happens(not likely by Valeriy's response), I hope there wont be any ranking...

All I know is that as soon as anybody or their post is added to the hall of fame, they will immediately be the target of flames. People will demand to know "why is so and so in the hall of fame, they're so stupid. I remember when they made a post in a thread 4 months ago that I didn't like." and will do things like go to view profile and demand to know why each quality point was awarded and then snow and moan and whine.

Wait just a minute...Since all the Hall of fame threads will have been generated by yourstruely, I think these anti-hall of fame posts are direct insults to me. Ease up and bask in my presence.

Im sticking by my old idea, plus the voting into the hall of fame idea......everyone seemed to like it back then, so lets give it another chance to happen....that is if val still comes to this place....
@ the mods: Put this in turban tribunal.

There is no such thing as real democracy, therefor the vote casting would be of no use. But the hall of fame or whatever is a good idea to take into consideration.

We should have different Awards of the Month.
Here are my ideas for different awards.
Best Poster - This is the person who posts the most in HC that month, not including flaming, word-games, comments that do nothing for the thread, nor repeating things that other people already said.
Worst Poster - Basically the person who was the most active in flaming, negative comments, and random comments.
Most Creative - This goes to the person who made the best threads that month.
Most Uncreative - This goes to the person who made the most threads that were put into Volcanic Wastelands or the most threads with few replies.
Funniest Poster - Self-explanatory
Biggest Volunteer - This goes to the person who gives the most ideas to help the community,
People who receive Best Poster, Funniest Poster, Biggest Volunteer and Most Creative awards should receive a QP or bonus to their post count.
People who receive Most unrelated or Worst Poster should get a penalty to their post count proportional to their spamming or thread spree. Perhaps even a -QP should be given in some cases.
At least one person should be given an award every month in every category, since awards/penalties can range from +QP/-QP to +50/-50 post count. This is just and example of a bonus/penalty. More than one person can get an award in the same category for that month.
If there is no one who was bad or outstanding that month then no one will be named in that category. Small bonuses shouldn't be given out every month, because everyone will complain that they deserve +5 post count etc. Plus who cares about a +5 post count anyway?
There should also be a Poster of the Year where all awards are inflated. Example of awards. Biggest Volunteer - +3 QP, Funniest Poster - +300 post count, Best Poster - +5 QP, etc.

I used the word should. There is a difference between "will or must" and "should."
I said this specifically in this manner to convey that awards should be given liberally, but not handed out like stale bunt cakes.
