If I were playing against a necrotown, and the GM necromancer decided to try to iniliate me by attacking me with his army along with tons of vampires, I would try to find a way to beat their skills. The life drain skill is the vampires' bread and butter, right? So If you formed a strategy to either mitigate or even neutralize that skill, then your opponent can kiss the win good-bye. Some ways I'v e come up with are determined by the town I'm using:
Preserve: Avoid hand-to-hand with the vampires. Use Faerie dragons magic attacks and Elf Long-range attacks to widdle down the vamps. Summon weak creatures to soak up their retaliation.
Haven: Once again, avoid hand to hand with the vamps! Using archers to weaken them is obvious, but using Ballistae to soak up their retaliation(at close range) might not be. Crusaders can hold their own against vamps (being the strongest 3rd level melee foot soldier.
Order:Two mechanical troops, two magic attackers, and great magic.
Try this stuff and see if it wipe's the confidence off their face.

Just wondering... who the hell gets elves?  and who gets ballistas either?  A crazy person, I think

i think vortigern is clouded by his enthusiasm to help that he can't think for a minute ... if u let a necromancer achieve GM necromancy ... he would have 40,50 vampire at least on any semi-closed map, then u would have to count level 4 creature, bone dragon or devil, doesn't matter, both are damn dangerous, then you would have a tactician (every death player has one, so that makes the vamps and level 4's to strike first round )

and that elves/faeries ... vamps get to elves turn 2, and if they have a go at them, they will be all back again ... as it is with life too, they will strike archers or pikemen for hitpoints back, so you can debate as long as you want, but letting someone pick gm necromancy is sure death, and not only that but the fun goes away (e.g. i was playing a newbie on chameleon just to show him how powerful death can be with necromancy ... day 5 i got to his castle 7 vamps and 28 ghosts)..., and that's a small map

To Blue Camel: True, on a map with champion difficulty, you have to scrounge around for scraps, but if their was a lot of wood laying around wouldn't you atleast consider elves over tigers? Tigers are easier to get under the constraints of champion, but elves would be a good choice because they are powerful archers that don't die as quickly as tigers.
Basically, if I were facing off against a necrotown, I would atleast try to beat them rather than to through my hands up and say "ok you win."

Everybody: what else are we gonna do besides trying to find ways to beat the cheap players that train to GM Necromancy? It probably will be awhile before NWC comes out with a patch for agreeably overwhelming vamp harvesting. I could be wrong, but until then I'm just gonna try to beat the system.

actually, theyve already said that they are abandoning H4 and moving to H5 so... no more patches for H4

and anyway, unless you are a moron, you DONT PLAY AGAINST DEATH unless you are order  That is the easiest way to avoid this "cheap" tactic.

EDIT: I forgot, another option is to play Death vs. Death.
