Most of us think that necro is overall pretty good, but let's also compare it to some of the other towns. Every player has their own way of playing the towns, it's just what kinda player you are that makes the town good or bad. Let's hear about the other towns to see if necro is really up to snuff.

There are also spells specially aimed at eliminating undead.
It is also v. difficult to mix undead with creatures from other towns (major morale dampener).
on the plus side, if you can havest enough liches and vampires it is v. possible that you won't need to hire any more creatures.

Well, even without the cloack of u/king the deadies are pretty deadly (sounds cool, doesn't it?  ), you know, a swarm of skels and everything that stands against you is gone... I remember that mission in RoE where you need to gather skels... I had 2813 skels in 2 months. Imagine that in a multi game... 
And the morale factor... yes, but imho, it isn't as bad as not having a legion of skels in your army ranks 
And for the necro destruction spell - it's very weak, as is the non-necro destruction spell.

Bullcrap. I wouldn't call a -1 penalty "major".
First of all, there are tons of artifacts that will fill the gap with a +1 bonus (well, ok. not really tons, but they're easy to find). Besides, Necro's skeletal hordes don't need the backup of other towns, so there .

You are totally right about that it's actually the player that make a town be powerful.
for example last week i thought that the Undead are the most powerful creatures ever but now i feel that the might armies are much stronger and much larger the only problem they have is that there is no spells which can be solved by making the hero learn life or nature magic + taking over a town that has some spells (as simple as that)

Necro is very good, but boring to play. What's so fun about building up a huge army with skeletons? Titans are good, but to expensive. If you save to upgrade titans a barbarian will hammer you with behemoths.
When you have played all maps and campaigns, it's most fun to play with everything random.
A good player should be able to win on any map with any hero.
A lot of people talk about difficulty level. Playing heroes on anything else than impossible, it's just way to easy or a waste of time.
To get a challenge in most strategy games vs a computer, always start on hardest level.
I hope to get time to visit zone for some games soon.

wow, Mandingo, you sound like a real expert, i wish i could play the game like that sucsessfully, how long have you been at it?

I agree with just about all that you have said mandingo, undead do get rather bland after stomping people with the same old vampire hoard strategy. I try to play random towns as well, unless I wanna try something new, like a trick or something off the net (whether it's confirmed or not)! Does anybody think that there are certain aspects about the other towns that can be developed into overpowering advantages? If so, let's compare that to the might of the Grand Necro skill. That's what I wanna see.

As always: play. Play some more. Then play a little more. Then start talking.
Don't mean this in an offensive way, but are u sure u've really played some on-line games?
Dungeon and Rampart r at least just as strong as fortress and stronghold I would say.
And yes: every vet knows that necro is way too strong. Goes without saying.

Necropolis the best? Not exactly my dear friend. Lots of words have been said, many calls Necro da best. In my opinion, it depands on the enemie's castle. I agree that swamp castle(forgot the name )has absolutely no chance against necro. Inferno is also weaker. The rest is capable of beating necro. But I would like to focus on tower and conflux. These casltes never lose when their enemy is necro. Tower has three shooters and believe me that before skeletons reach tower's units, titan shoots at least twice, and not forget about magi and gremlins. I'm not also sure if naga queen isn't more powerful than black night. And wampires? I'm a wizard, right? Now conflux. Vampires can use their ability only against level seven and one. Two shooters instead of one; one Feniks is better than one Ghost Dragon, and u have 4 of them every week!They also ressuret themselves from ashes. And when u have armmagedon, fight doesn't have sense at all! And do not forget-conflux heroes are great at magic! Necro is medium!!!

I still think that a Stronghold'll kill a Necro...Its too easy...and a Fortress will make Bone-Handled Knives otta those skeles...

kuma i'd say that was you'r op on that suject but the fortress and the castle are the best in the game case closed.also the rampart is the worst next to the tower
