Let's have our own HoMM tournament!

I have an idea of making an off-line HC Heroes 3 tournament. We choose some maps and I make links to them here. Anyone who want to participate in the tournament should download those maps (possibly not all, at least some). When he finishes playing one of the maps, he posts out his solution (a very DETAILED one, so that I could check it) to the map. If his victory is reached earlier than anyone else's, he becomes the leader, and if his result isn't beat within 3 days, he becomes the winner for this map.
So what do you guys think about it? I know there's always ToH to play at, but still, this one can be fun.

If you do like the idea, you can IM/E-mail me if you want to suggest some maps for the tourney.

hummmm... i dont know much about these tortements, and i dont think i will join the one you are proposing, no offence mind you.

but i was wondering about guilds or groups that a bunch of people join just to talk, without needing to stick to a certin topic, dose this posting site have anything like that?

Yep. Tavern of the Rusung Sun is where you post such "offtopic" things.
If you want to talk on subjects more stick to Heroes, post in Library of Enlightenment, Lands of Axeoth or Altar of Wishes.
For the real life talk, use "Other Side of the Monitor" (though I've never been there).
"Turban Tribunal" is about all the things that happen with community (it's also called "feedback for community").
That's it. Enjoy HC!

Ok, but we still have to find good maps. I just don't know much of the player-made H3 maps, so if you can suggest any good ones, it could help a lot. Once enough maps are gathered, the tournamnet will start!

P.S. To be honest, this is not really my idea. An online tourney with a similar system takes place on the Heroic Corner. I just think it could run better if we make it for Heroes 3 (I still think there are more H3 players than H4), and also time-limited (the one who stays leader for three days becomes a winner).

I suggest you take the Cave of Gerfrex map. It's a WOG map though. Prolly not everyone has WOG.

Yeah, thanks Lord Woock, I know it's a good map. Maybe we'll have a subtournament called "The Sword of Gods" for those who like WoG
Today I'll look through some other maps and perhaps a few days later the tourney will be able to start.

The first tour begins

OFFLINE HC HOMM3 TOURNAMENT RULES
=================================

To take part in the tournament, first download at least one of the maps from the list below. They are all made as starting saves, to ensure that all the players will have the same starting conditions. Play this map (strange, huh?) and try to finish it with the earliest game date possible. While you are playing, make detailed notes on every day, including all the events, describing any difficult enough battles (no need to describe obvious battles, e.g. 4 Unicorns vs. 20 Goblins). Example:

Month 2, Week 2, Day 4.
Vidomina takes the gem and crystal stacks (+3 gems and +5 cryst) to the northeast. 23 gnolls join her. With 23 gnolls and 4 vampires, crushes 28 sprites guarding a treasure chest (3 gnolls lost). Takes 2000 gold in the treasure chest. Sandro marches to the northwest and captures a non-guarded Castellatus from the red player, buys 4 swordsmen and marches further on a road to the west...

Once you win the map and finish the solution, you can post it here, if it's the best result (the earliest victory date). The less detailed your solution is, the more is the chance of it being rejected, since playing with your solution seems to be the only way to check the result. If you post the best result solution here, you become a leader in the map you've played, and if noone posts a better result solution within 3 days after your post, you become the winner in the map you've played. When all 5 maps have winners, their list is posted separatley under the header "Heroes of the year" (BTW they can also be awarded with a few QPs... )

======

Now the maps. Their starting saves, to be exact:

Down in Dungeon (130%, Dungeon) download here
Bloodrules (160%, Rampart) download here
Crystal Sword (130%, Rampart) download here

Ehehee

I've already played and succesfully completed bloodrules,I got it from h3trio,love that map, gonna try again to win this tournament of yours now,so I'm off resurecting my SOD.

I tried to install WOG but I had problems so I removed it,so I'm back to SOD(rus).

:@ Nothing good ever works on my computer even if it should,no matter how hard I try,I still end up having the worse version when I should have teh best.:'(
But okay whatever I'll live, even if with russian SOD instead of english WOG!

Installing WoG is really a tricky thing. Maybe you could find help at their official site...
Anyways, good luck in playing the map. I hope you'll win (especially if you've already done that once ).

You don't need WoG in order to play those saves. Down in Dungeon needs RoE, Bloodrules needs AB and Crystal Sword needs SoD.

Yep,already mailed that guy and still waitin for that reply.
Been waitin for bouta week now.
I downloaded the first save but had some problems with DAP and couldn't download the second one.
The third one however I haven't tried yet.

Hey Odvin, does this solution have to be detailed and bout all days?I'm makin one of every day,and eventhough I'm tryna make it as short as possible, the first week was already quite long. But okay,I'll keep makin'em.
Because my hero had the face of Dace,I thought it was him,and somewhere bout day4-5 I realised it was actually my favorite warlock!Anyway, dungeon is my favorite town and now I'm off playn again.

You should note all the major events. You may pass some obvious comments (easy battles etc.), but the solution needs to be detailed enough so that I could play the map the same way as you did it.
