Maybe there should be a special structure on the adventure map called a... say, Fusion Chamber where you can combine the creatures.
ps Stargazer meant LordWoock i presume.

Yes, I've been thinking about that too. But they should perhaps be buildable buildings in the towns, with the restriction that you can only create fused creatures of which one half is a creature from your town.
I would also insist that all fusions take place between creatures of:
a) The same level
b) Different allignments

You are all people of few words....
Are postcounts that important to you??
I like the idea of different alignments merged togheter to create others.
The worst enemies should be merged togheter and so create new creatures, devil-angel=Dark Angel, Black Dragon-Titan=Dark Titan and so on..
But don't count on it..
NWC probably just make it like HOMM3 or 4 without any NEW stuff like Weather, day/night and merging creatures..

My humble apologies, but we are not all grandmasters in fantasycreaturology and sometimes, briefness is the essence of wit.
I agree that the chance to implement this idea is as good as nihil (actually, I don't think I would want it implemented). But the whole point is to keep posting new ideas in the hope that some people from NWC and 3DO will take a look at them and pick the best ideas to implement in the new game.

lets say there are 30 creatures in homm4.
then every creature could be combined with 29 other creatures.
generally, the formula for finding the number of combinations of k objects you can choose from a set of n objects is:
n!
n_C_k = ----------
k!(n - k)!
for the creatures this is
30!
n_C_k = ---------- = 435
2!(30 - 2)!
meaning 3DO will have to make 435 more creatures.
considering that the first 30 creatures came in a came costing $30, you can expect the addon you´re suggesting to cost about $435, and thats pretty expensive. I don´t think it will be done actually.

how about fusion spell? so we can combine two creatures during combat if we have not had combinator building yet.
other ideas:
Dread Knight +(mounted on) Wyvern Monarch = Dragon Slayer
Wraith + Spectre = Dementor
